Get to Work, Hercules! (Myth-o-Mania, 7)

It’s GREEK to me. But is it shish kebab time???
Is it Mount Atlas or Titan Atlas? Is it just Atlas or just Charles Atlas? Could it be Superman or the Hulk? Nope. It’s HERCULES, the strongest, muscular hero on Earth (maybe even more than that --- there’s even a constellation!). And he really loved being a WRESTLER! (Have you ever heard the wrestler Raymond “Hercules” Hernandez? I didn’t know that.) O.K., maybe Hercules has a itty-bitty brain (like me), but you can’t do everything. And he is a real nice guy. (If you like the old T.V. shows like Celebrity Charades or Pantomime Quiz, check out page 123 or 152. It’s a riot! Even Hercules is slow.) And Hercules best friend is Hades, King of the Underworld, who is the narrator. (By the way, Hades’s dogs are Harley and Davidson. CUTE!)Some of the names are hard to pronounce. It sounds like gobbledegook for me. But relax. Cithaeron is Cee (a lion, by the way); Poseidon is Po; Eurystheus is Eury; and Cerberus is Cercie.Kudos for the author Kate McMullan. Obviously V Stars! Kate’s written X Myth-O-Mania books and XX books from the Dragon Slayers’ Academy. The difference is that the “new” MOM books have I Map with no other pictures. (The “old” MOM books have I Map and III pictures.) The DSA has VII real pictures. So Kate when you get Myth-O-Mania XI Jason, XII Hera, XII Poseidon, etc. (and I hope you do) could you please, PLEASE make more pictures. Thanks, Kate!O.K., I’m getting hungry. It’s shish kebab time!!!

Another fun entertaining remake of the myth
I never tire of reading these parodies of Greek heroes. They are funny and my daughter laughs a lot when i read them to her. They could make good play.

Fun, Clever, and a Fresh Spin on Greek Mythology
This is a great series to read to your kids (6+ years old). It is cleverly written, engaging, and entertaining for adults too, especially if you are already familiar Greek mythology, which is turned on its head in a hilarious fashion. I'm so glad I discovered this series and plan to get Kate McMullan's Dragon Slayers' Academy series next for our children.

Good but,......
This book is great! But if your a kindle fire reader, don't get it. It crashes every time I read it. I don't even know the ending. Hope they fix this.

Love this book and series. If you know Greek Mythology or not, it's still entertaining. (More so if you enjoy Greek Mythology.)

Great series
My 11yo son loves this series - he reads right through each one as soon as he gets it. I'm not sure why I can't buy these at our local store, but I'm glad Amazon carries them!

Great Series for Beginning Reader
My daughter is trying to pass the barrier between reading beginner books to enjoying chapter books. This whole series has been great motivation and she has loved them all!

Entertaining and a good read
My 9 year old likes all the myth-o-mania books and re-reads them often. They tell the stories while entertaining the children with the narration.
