Waypoint Geographic Canada ScrunchMap - Easy to Store Map with Storage Bag (24" H x 36" W)

Being a homeschooler & former school teacher, I was so ecstatic to finally buy this product. We have limited wall space for a map to be placed, and wanted a more hands on approach.When it came it was nicely packaged & ready to be explored. However, inside the clear packaging is a sticky dot that actually ripped the map while pulling it out. (Ironically, the packaging states it’s not rippable.) I honestly, had envisioned the same type of materials as the Indestructable Books (which would be perfect) but it reminds me more of those table cloths we got as a child that seemed pretty great for picnics but were disposable.In all, there is NO way I would have spent $10 on this product again (can’t return it by the way—surprise!). It would probably be better to buy a smaller map and have it lightly laminated or use contact paper to laminate—which would make it last longer.

The thickness of a paper tablecloth. I looked forward to more of a “blanket” material..this is more of a “lay it out where you are and remind your children it can be torn” type of material. I have 3 kids and thought it would be more of a thing we could play and interact with for years. The quality is lacking in how it was described and I wish I had lowered my expectations. This; however, I hope was helpful for another mom and to say that it still functions well. I’m just concerned about how readable it’ll be after each use as well being that it’s more of a papery table cloth material.

We love these scrunch maps! As a homeschooling family, we do a lot of reading aloud, but it's often on the couch in the family room that is on the other side of the house than our homeschooling room. There have been so many times that I'd love to insert a mini geography lesson based on what we're reading, but it would be too disruptive to the flow of the book to make everyone get out of their cozy spots and haul everyone to the other room to look at the maps on the wall. Problem solved with scrunch maps! We have both the US and World versions. They come with a handy bag to store them when they are not in use, and we keep them in our book basket. So whenever anyone has a question about where something is when we're reading, we just grab the map, spread it on the floor, and discuss the geography we're reading about. We've only had it for a couple of months so I can't speak for how well it will hold up in the long term. But with 5 kids ages 1-12, they've already stood up to a lot of abuse. I often walk into the room and find a couple of kids sitting on the map spread on the floor studying it. Fantastic way to foster a love of learning about our country and our world!

I think this is a really fun map. The colors are bright and clear, plus it’s just fun to scrunch it up and put it into the little bag. It is also a good learning tool, as I learned something about my husband of 40 years that I didn’t know before........he doesn’t like wrinkles on his map. Huh?! Go figure....well even though I’m not going to use it as I first thought(our map of our travels), I’m keeping it and using it as my map to document our travels. Personally I think wrinkles add character.....

It’s hard to read without a magnifying glass. Rivers are not labeled well. We almost always have to use a different map to find smaller locations. I really needed it for states, lakes and rivers. We wanted to follow along the discovery of America while reading some historical fiction books. It became time consuming and zapped the fun out of the assignment.It is a neat concept. It is made well.We love our laminated place mat world and US map. That one we can even write on with a dry erase marker.This one was a waste of money and never gets used since buying a different map.

My kids love these maps! My daughter uses them as dance mats and "beds", and they're still in great condition! Very durable! My son especially loves that we can sort of fold the map around like it's a globe and see where Alaska and Russia meet. The only thing I don't love is that there aren't more scrunch items by this company! There are so many posters that would be amazing on this material!

Love it! This is a great map for our family. We pull it out, crawl on it, stuff it back in its bag, and have it always ready when we need to figure out where places are on the map. It’s been a great help to our family learning geography. Plus if the 2 year old runs over it, it doesn’t rip! Amazing! The best part is there is no folding needed! Just stuff and go.

As a homeschool mom who doesn’t have a lot of storage room, or wall space, this map was the perfect solution!! I can grab it while reading so that the kids can find the geographical locations mentioned in our books, and I don’t have to worry about it getting hurt by the toddler (it’s water resistant and can be crinkled... so awesome.) Highly recommend! We bought both the world and US.

The product came as described. And it’s great for a visual idea for small kids learning about the world. I like that it’s made for young kids as it seems to not be flimsy or can be easily ripped.

We use this daily for school and it is wonderful! I only wish the capitals were marked a little bit bigger or brighter so the kids could pick them out better
