Unfortunately the quite expensive G5 TV doesn't have USB3.0. My max ISP is 1Gb/s but apparently by USB2.0 the speed won't get much higher than 300Mb/s. The current speed is fine but I don't understand why LG (and other brands aswell) don't supply these expensive TV's with a decent(not much more expensive) 1Gb/s LAN connection. Now you would say WiFi6e of which the LG G5 supports is enough. And yes my routers do support 6e they even do WiFi7. But it isn't in some cases. For example if you wanne stream 4K60fps HDR content, which you recorded with your smartphone, directly to the TV it doesn't work. The video will buffer all the time or the bit rate will be scaled down a lot. When you connect the TV to the onboard 100Mb/s LAN connection the TV is just able to handle it. But now with this adapter it goes even better.
