Great information but difficult format.
I think the information contained in the book is great and very useful. However, the format of the book made it hard for me to read. The book doesn't contain many pictures but the ones it does have, are obscured with brightly colored text boxes containing white letters. Even if there is clear space to the side of the picture there is still a brightly colored box on it. Because the text color is white on top of a bright background printed over a completely different picture, I have a hard time focusing on the letters. It's as if my eyes don't know where to look first. I can only read about five pages at a time before the format becomes too distracting and unreadable. If I had paid closer attention to the online "preview" for this book I would have noticed the random colors in the book and not purchased it. I don't quite regret buying the book but I am not completely happy with my purchase. All in all there is some great information and if you aren't easily distracted by randomly placed boxes and don't mind a picture being covered in a bright color that doesn't have anything at all to do with the book then you should be fine reading this.

this book is fantastic. Where I think it fell short
For information on Strawberries, Blueberries, Raspberries, and Blackberries, this book is fantastic. Where I think it fell short, and what I was really looking for, was information on other types of berries such as Goji, Honeydew and a few others. It does have some information on Currents and a few others that I can't remember off the top of my head, but that information seemed hurried... as if they had a limit to how big the book could be and spent most of it on the first four types of berries listed then rushed to go through the rest, leaving out some others in the process. I do wish the book had been bigger and covered some lesser known berries as thoroughly as they did the more popular but it's still a great book.

Great resource
This book is an excellent resource for all types of berries. Though it could expand upon less known berries like Aronia berry, aka Black Chokeberry.

Ask you need to know
I have several berry books. This one does the best job of explaining how to grow berries. In particular, it has tons of information on varieties and where those varieties grow best ie east, Midwest, west, northern latitudes, southern latitudes. Highly recommend.

Superb Book
I can't put this book down. Even though it is about America and Canada you can relate the weather conditions with our UK weather. Found the ideas for organic gardening fantastic. My blueberries, strawberries and raspberries won't know what's hit them with all the love and care that is coming to them.Bought the Kindle addition but am seriously thinking of putting this on my Christmas list.
