With installing the bottom headset, the inserted part of the lower headset often has to be trimmed to get it to fit. The reason why the headset is extended is because bike frames are all different, so they extend it so that people can fit it to their individual frames. This is one of the most common headset sizes for conversion, but you will most likely still need to trim it. Another part of installing the bottom headset is a headset press. When you install the bottom headset, you need the headset press to fit in your headtube. EC44/40 means 44mm for the inner diameter of the lower part of head tube and 40mm for the size of the lower taper fork headtube.

Measure your bottom steerer tube b4 ordering.
Quality looked good but could not use it to convert 1 1/8th steerer tube as advertised. Before ordering you need to knock out your lower race and see if it is a 44 id or 34mm I'd. It will work on a 44mm but not traditional 34mm.
