For two people although could be a little larger
The last coffee press used was from the 50's or 60s and did not use a filter, just a pierced metal plunger. It was loose-fitting and some grounds could pass around the edge of the plunger and through its holes. Drinking a cup of coffee down to the last was not a recommended procedure. That stove-top press was either disposed of or lost long ago. While claimed to be (or to contain) 500 ml, there is a recommendation to leave about an inch (25 mm) of the top of this pot vacant. The consequence is that the brewed coffee only just half-fills two 275ml coffee cups when completely drained. Had that been known in advance, a larger version (and there are several that look nearly identical in design but some include a spoon or other extras) would have been ordered. As it is double-skinned, the pot does not get too hot or uncomfortable to hold even when freshly brewed. The system is easy to use and filtration with a single screen is almost perfect; there were no gritty grounds in the cups although there was a little fine dust; it was visible but not detected on the tongue. A second screen may have further reduced that quantity but the difference would be slight.Impressed by how well it works. For those who take their coffee black or strong with very little milk or cream a larger one, even if not fully filled, would be perfect. As we do not drink huge amounts of coffee, this suffices - just!Apparently well-made and offers good value.POSTSCRIPT - After several uses, some grains of coffee remained embedded in the mesh filter after washing. A moderately stiff washing-up brush removed some of the grains but not quite all. A stiff tooth-brush (new and previously unused) may be a better tool. If that fails, a replacement filter may be needed if any of the correct diameter can be found.

An excellent product
I have had the 500ml coffee pot for 10 weeks (written 21.02.2020) and believe it to be an excellent product. So far, claims of inferior quality made by others have not materialised. At the price I paid £17.86, this is a good purchase.1. The insulation is excellent and the exterior remains cold for many minutes after it has been filled with boiling water. This is far better than my expensive stainless steel vacuum flasks proved to be.2. The handle appears to be well fixed to the casing and appears unlikely to detach itself.3. The polished finish of lid and casing is excellent.4. The piston assembly appears to be fine. I recommend that it is not unscrewed; coffee grounds should wash out under the tap. Unscrewing the assembly will obviously eventually destroy the thread of the screw which is not meant to cope with this treatment.5. As in all cafetières I have ever had, a small amount of fine sludge goes into the coffee and remains in the bottom of the cup so you cannot reproduce the fine filtered flavour of an espresso machine. There will always be a slightly sludgy taste which I can live with. And a few grains of coffee will also escape as the piston is depressed, but nothing much.My opinion is that the device is made to a higher standard than I expected and, if treated with care, should last for many years. There is a warning in the instructions of the possibility of rusting of the fine mesh if left in a wet dishwasher for days. This implies first of all that the mesh is probably made from inferior stainless steel, the best quality never rusts, or that the manufacturer is just covering themselves. It is impossible to put the coffee pot into store dry between uses because you cannot normally dry the piston assembly completely.I hope that my entry will clarify to others whether this is yet another heap of Chinese junk, or a good quality Chinese coffee pot. I think the latter.PS the supplier appears to be connected with the US.

Great Coffee Pot
I drink my coffee black, and the smaller (3 miniscule cup) glass cafetieres only produce enough for a small mug. This, however, is a great coffee pot. It has a nice stainless steel finish, it makes a decent sized mug of filter coffee, and it really does keep the coffee warm. Excellent.

Good for one mug only.
As the only coffee drinker in the house I only really required a small French press, this really is perfect for one large mug or two small cups. If you are wanting it for two people I would recommend you buy at least the next size up as I think with most UK size mugs you'd be short changed after each brew. The construction is sturdy, the double wall construction keeps the coffee hot, however with it only in there for 5mins due to being one cup I wouldn't be able to comment on someone with a larger size having multiple cups over a longer period of time. The filters work well and I've only had a few bits in my mug.If we ever have an additional coffee drinker in the house I wouldn't hesitate buying a larger french press from the same manufacturer.

Excellent French Press
This is the first french press I have owned and safe to say I am not disappointed. I should have bought one of these years ago! This one is excellent quality, I obviously can't comment on others but it is very easy to clean and keeps the coffee warm for a good hour. When full I get about one and a half mugs of coffee out of it, perfect way to start the day!

Good cafetière
The press works well ... we had an issue with mesh as it was faulty and the company were good at sorting it out .

Brilliant french press
I would thoroughly recommend this french press. My french press at work kept on getting smashed in the dishwasher. I decided to invest in this press which is made from steel and is pretty indestructible. As a bonus it also is doubled skinned and therefore insulates your coffee from cooling down too quickly. I initially bought a small one for personal use at work. I was so impressed, that I have also bought a larger one for home. There are few things that are more important than having hot coffee in the morning...enjoy.

Need at least 2 filters attached
Love the size (enough for one mug or 2 small cups) and retains heat for the first pour very well. Find that I needed all 3 filters in place to reduce the grounds coming through though - but perhaps this is the main reason 3 are supplied. No better than other steel multi-walled products on the market.
