40 Golden Greats - Cliff Richard 2LP

I adore this collection! It spans so many different styles of music Cliff has done throughout his career. My only experience with his music had been my favorite song Devil Woman and Miss You Nights. I'm so glad I've "discovered" more of his music but sad that it wasn't sooner. I enjoy how much emotion he can convey in a song, so much so that he can bring me to tears even after hearing them many times. His voice is beautiful and emotive and I find him to be an amazing performer. In my opinion Congratulations is one of the happiest love songs you'll ever hear :)

I have loved Cliff Richard since I was a young teenager. I'm 68 now and this CD set has all the great oldies that I remember. Love it.

great price and what great music.

This is a perfect CD for all of Cliff's fans who want to capture his talents from the beginning. Would make the perfect gift to any of his older fans, like me.

I bought this for my wife who listened to Cliff as a teenager. As a casual listen there are some really good songs here, but perhaps it is more suited to those who love everything Cliff Richard did. I may have been better off just getting the top 20.

I listened to Cliff Richard when he first became popular with his hits. I now enjoy them just as much today. Great CD, great sound, and a great performer. All the songs were very good.

Being a child and growing up during the 1960’s and 1970’s one of my parent’s favourite artists was Cliff Richard so from being very young I heard a lot of his songs.For Christmas 1977 my late grandparents bought me this which back then was a double vinyl record set as they knew I loved a lot of Cliff’s songs.These records were played daily till my record player died in the early 1990’s, (have still kept the vinyl double set even though I can no longer play it).Anyway when the CD was born I started getting my favourite albums on CD.Personally I think some of Cliffs greatest songs are on here.I love listening the entire CD. My all-time favourite is his “Devil Woman”. :-)It’s a great album and a must for any true Cliff Richard fan. :-)

One of the pop/rock music greats. There are those who knock him & act as if they know what is "cooler" but truth is when history is written on Sir Cliff Richard, they won't care what his critics said, they will just recall how he had more chart hit singles than anyone else. First released in the '70s, this 40 track hits collection spans the first three decades Cliff had music out (50s, 60s, 70s). I was born after this album came out, and he had already had an amazing career. I have been a lifelong fan too. And Cliff continues.

There are lots of Cliff Richard compilations about but in my opinion this is one of the best. The compilation is over 25 years old but the sound quality is as close to the original recordings as possible. Many of the later releases have poor remastering leaving the tracks sounding unlike the original singles. If you want something more recent then go for "75 at 75" or "The Platinum Collection" but if you want a collection to remind you of Cliff's Golden period, then this it. Great value too.

I like early Cliff the best and there were enough early tracks here to tempt me to buy it,especially in used condition off an amazon shop it was a bargain.However I had carefully listened to the mp3 samples before I bought the CD so I knew the sound quality was good.Having carefully listened to the actual Cds,I am very pleased with the sound quality,it is never less than good and frequently reaches excellent,the early tracks are mono,as they were never recorded in stereo,from track 7 to the end on CD1 we have all stereo recordings,as is the whole of CD2,this is much better than offered on most compilations,even the much more expensive singles collection does not offer this.The original issue date is given as 1979,however my copy also has 1989 on it,were the tracks remastered during this 10 year period as my observations on the sound quality is different in some ways from certain other reviewers,I cannot say any more on this as it is against amazon review guide lines.To sum up,if you like the selection of tracks,buy it as currently there is nothing better,thoroughly recommended,also do see my other Cliff reviews.

My favorite singer .cliff is only 10months older than me.I have come to appreciate his singing more and more and his songs transport me back to the 60's when I was a young man courting my wife.now married 53 years.but the early songs on this a pure Gold to listen to .

Nice compilation of the Great Cliff Richard and it brings me back to good old days of rock and roll. Cliff was very under-rated and is to me a great artist.

I bought this replace the record version I'd had. The cds themselves are in good condition but sadly the casing was badly damaged on the inside.

Only listened to the first few tracks. It took me back a few years. Happy memories ow shucks.

Excellent CD cliff singles were always good especially Eurovision congratulations and power to all our friends would recommend this cd

if I had known it was remastered I would not have bought it I need original recordings
