I researched over and over all the sketch books to give my grandson of 9 years on his birthday. the only downside of it was that there wasn't any sharpener or eraser with it, and my grandson said that he could've used that. but still, those items can b purchased separately and slipped into the pocket folio. also, we cut down a shiny cardboard to carry in the folio pocket so that when he draws, he can place the cardboard under his hand so as not to smudge the drawing. making the folio a complete small travel case. perfect for taking anywhere, anytime, anyplace. quick shipping, good price

Got several of these as holiday gifts and each one has been well received. I kept one for myself. I have found that if you have something on hand when an item catches your eye, you can make a quick sketch that keeps your "art" eye tuned. Would definately purchase again.

This was purchased as a bon voyage gift for my artistically inclined significant other. I wasn't expecting too much in regards to the quality due to the affordable price, but I was surprised upon receiving this product. Not only is it highly portable (perfect for a carry-on bag), but it is also equipped with a decent assortment of sketch pencils and a sketch pad with quality paper that both invites and encourages illustrating. Though the pencils are of a "professional" quality, I found they work well on the accompanying sketch pad.The folio itself seems to be made of vinyl, canvas, and Velcro. Though not the most durable construction, I can see this kit lasting quite a few vacations. For the price and the anticipated use, the materials and assembly should not prove to be an issue.Unfortunately, this set did not come with a pencil sharpener or eraser, so those may be some additional purchases anyone looking into this product should consider. Definitely a great purchase!

The case itself is very nice. When closed, it's very compact to fit easily inside a bag. There's also a flap on the top that folds down to help keep your sketchbook and pencils from falling out, which I didn't see on the photo when I ordered this.Two of my pencils arrived with broken tips, but that's easily fixable with a sharpener. The pencils themselves, mainly the graphites, aren't the best quality. I got this mainly for the case though, as I already have a decent set of pencils.I also wish that there was a place to store an eraser and sharpener, as well as smudge sticks.You could always put them in he netting with the sketchbook, but it would have been nice to include a little spot for them.The sketchbook is also very small, but thats understandable, given the size of the case. There's only about 20 sheets in it, but the pages seem to be pretty sturdy.Overall, it suits my needs better than any of the other pencil cases on Amazon at this point in time, and is a pretty good buy for students.

I ordered this for a family member for Christmas, and from one artist to another, this is a wonderful little drawing kit for a beginner. The pencils and paper are of good quality, and it looks like the holder itself will last a while as well. It's just the right size for her to be able to tuck away in her backpack or purse without being bulky or taking up much space, but will also allow her to have enough space to quickly sketch something she sees. I may be getting one for myself son too!

Wonderful little sketch book and pencils. I don't like carrying my huge sketch book every where so when I feel inspired I pull out my little sketch pad and start going. The various pencils are nice and it is great having it at my fingertips and the fact that it isn't bulky is really great. I'm going to get one for my brother.

I love this set! I bought two of them (one for my boyfriend and one for myself) and we both love the pencil selection and how it keeps them protected. The little sketch pad that comes with it is very convenient as well. The case may or may not hold up well, we aren't very rough on them.

Purchased for 4 small children. I put regular colored pencils into 3 of them and saved the charcoal ones for my oldest as replacements. I also let each child customize the covers ( stickers, vinyl monogram letters, paint, etc). It is the perfect size for travel and the pocket can accommodate standard small notebooks and notepads depending on your needs.
