Effective Protection for an Affordable Cost
I live out in the country, and experience many thunderstorms during the course of a year. I have a 3-meter/10-foot diameter C-band satellite dish that is installed in an open field about 350 feet from my house. After one thunderstorm with several fairly close lightning strikes, I found that both of the the down converters on the dish were blown out, and the satellite receiver was damaged. After repairing the lightning damaged equipment, I installed the Panamax Protection Module on the coaxial cables and another Panamax module on the control lines that run between the dish and the satellite receiver. Since then, I have had many more thunderstorms, but have had no more damage to the protected equipment.During one storm after installing the Panamas Protection Modules, I had a lightning strike that was close enough to blow out the kitchen TV and destroy the AM/FM radio in my van which was parked outside in the driveway. But there was no damage to the equipment protected by the Panamax modules.Note - When installing the Panamax modules, be sure you connect the ground terminals on the modules directly to a good earth ground. If this is not done, the modules cannot shunt the surge to ground properly. Remember, no lightning/surge protection system is 100% effective if you get a direct lightning strike or a very close strike that hits 50 to 100 feet away.

Panamax Module (MOD-SPKP
This unit is designed to link with one of the Panamax surge protector models; I don't believe this unit can function without this physical link. As such the unit is easy to set up and use, following the included instructions. It can cover 2 sets (4) of speakers. I've had it linked in for several months without a surge incident. I've had a power surge incident once per year for the last 3 years involving the same receiver in the same location--each incident fried/ruined the receiver. This despite using a surge protector that wasn't damaged. So time will tell how things turn out. I did talk to the folks at Panamax. They assured me that with my system and all components now completely protected as per their recommendations, they will warranty any equipment damage, even if the surge protector appears undamaged. Again, time will tell, but I tend to believe them.ks

No issues with the surge protector...hopefully I'll never have to use it. Great seller!

Panamax module
The panamax module is a perfect match for my satellite system. I use it between my C-band motor controller wires and the reciever to protect against lightning strikes, since these wires are a direct connect line to the dish motor, and a potential path for lightning into the house.

Functions Well
A "piece of mind" purchase, device allows hookup of speakers, but would suggest using spades for a good connection.Device seems to function properly, no surge arrest has been detected to date.
