An update to my review posted a bit before this one: I just received a new 12-pack-case of the brown basmati rice and the expiration is 4/2020... And yay! The rice tastes great again! Thank you so much to Seeds of Change who contacted me to let me know that they were listening!From earlier:I normally love this rice. I've probably eaten 100 bags... But the batch that another reviewer pictured with the 1/2020 expiration date is not good. I accidentally ate half before I realized it was the rice that smelled off. I didn't get sick. I think it has almost an old onion smell or something. Otherwise the rice looks normal. I've purchased a lot of bags from other places like walmart.com, vitacost.com, my local grocery store-- and if they have that 1/2020 date, they're all the same. I've contacted Seeds of Change 3 times and reported it. No recall yet, which is disappointing. I'm waiting to get a new batch with a new expiration date! If you receive this 1/2020 brown rice and it's bad, please report it to Seeds of Change.

This product must have fallen off of the back of a prison-bound truck. This was the most disgusting tasting rice I've ever had. And I'm no stranger to Seeds of Change. I purchase their products in local stores all the time. I just happened to be busy this week and on a lark checked to see if I could find the Brown Rice blend on Amazon. Great, it was for sale in a 12-pack box. I gave at least three pouches of the rice a try before I gave up and threw the entire case away. It tasted rancid, disgusting, and my guests agreed: something VERY WRONG with this rice.

We frequently use and enjoy seeds of change rice; have done so for years. We bought online since the price was right. We have opened two packages and both smelled like dirty sweat socks. Not at all normal. Saw the reviews about mold - no signs of mold, but something is really wrong with this supply source. Since just received we are going to try and return them.Update- got a refund. Added the picture with the batch number. Opened the others. All bad.

Moldy

Case was previously opened. Product loaded every way. Only 11 of the 12 packets advertised. I buy this from Walmart frequently and love it, but I’m nervous about how this arrived.Update: my first order was replaced in just a fews days with an unopened case. So I ordered again. Once again, case tossed together and taped. All twelve packets present but from 4 different production lots. If i buy loose items, i understand it being tossed in a box, but if i buy a case, i wiuld like to get an unopened case.

Product itself tastes ok not great but can’t beat the convenience when in a rush or not feeling like cooking. 🤔 Ordered a 12 pack and one pack looked and felt different. I checked the bottom of the package where it’s clear and u can see the brown rice and quinoa, but this pack was almost all black. Must have got a hole or not sealed right. Make sure to check them before you stuff your face 😋

SOMETHING VERY WRONGI hate to do this to seeds of change because I’ve had their other products and they are SO naturally delicious. The brown rice quinoa garlic mix for example but it may be shipping/travel/covid not sure but I tried to use this brown rice package 2 of them and they smelled HORRIBLE even after microwaving still horrible, tasted HORRIBLE, RANCID, they tasted and smelled completely laced with chemicals...don’t know if that’s what rice smells like when it goes bad cause natural rice doesn’t go bad ...but the smell was distinct. Can’t trust feeding this to my family or giving to someone else. So BE CAREFUL I didn’t read reviews before purchasing , and be careful you don’t have a bad batch before you eat it. Test look and smell prior to putting in your mouth. Set up for refund ...but still in need of rice

What a great idea to offer this wonderful blend in a packaged that can be microwaved. How much simpler can food preparation be. My wife and I will typically heat up this rice and serve it along with Madras Lentils for a quick and easy dinner. Add things like yogurt or sour cream to give it all a lighter flavor. The package says that it serves 2, but you might find that it's too much rice. You can always reduce your serving size, but we haven't yet tried to save the unused portion for later. Remember to knead the contents of the package before opening the top and microwaving. It is typical to have the rice feel like a soft brick beforehand, so follow the instructions to loosen up the contents. It will cook better and more evenly.

I always keep these on hand as they make a tasty, healthy and quick side for many meals.
