I like this model better than the others due to it having a buckle that clips under your shoulder strap to ensure it from not coming off. I did a quick water test at home, and it was was able to repel the water and then hold water(when made into a bowl)The real test will be when im hiking through the Philippines next month.

Just spent a rainy weekend near White Rocks (Ewing, VA). It drizzled all day and 1/2 the night after a forecast of only20% chance of precipitation. I had purchased 2 covers since my pack was on the borderline of sizes. As it turned out, my hiking partner needed one and my”extra” one fit his pack. At night we tied the two packs back to back before hoisting them in the line to keep out of any bear’s reach. In the morning, both packs were still dry. Kudos for the fastener that keeps the top of the rain cover in place. Two satisfied owners out of one purchase.

This invention is the best ever!It’s a high quality cover, that goes all over the backpack and keeps it dry on rainy days.I had my notes and books ruined before I got it. Now I walk to class under the rain worry free!They also have a great customer service.

The material is lightweight but apparently durable, sewing is done right. I bought two sizes for two different packs (small and medium). They fit well and go on easily. In fact, I keep one attached and rolled up at the top of my 5.11 Covert 18 pack. I just roll it down and around the pack at the first hint of a shower - not an uncommon occurrence in the Pacific Northwest. Can't find anything negative to say, and I've tried!

My only regret is waiting too long into the rainy season to purchase this awesome rain coat for my leather backpack. When I first pulled it out of the zip lock package, I didn't think that it (15-25L) would fit my Will Leather Silas backpack, but it did perfectly! I purchased two of these, one for me and one for my wife's smaller back pack. There are other manufacturers that are not of the same quality in a two pack. However, the Gryps comes with a much needed strap that stops it from slipping off. I'm super happy with this cover.

If your backpack has shoulder straps that meet the main pack right at the top seam, then the elastic of most rain covers will not be able to keep the top edge near the straps dry. When the cover strap is snugged under the pack should straps, pulls the edge of the cover snugly against the shoulder straps. I used this cover in 7 hours of heavy rain and it worked great.

We bought this backpack cover for a trip to Iceland in December, where it is often rainy. It DID, in fact, POUR all day on our first trip to Reykjavik. Unfortunately, we bought another bag, not even thinking about the weather. On our second trip, it looked as if it would pour, and the weather said it would, so this time we were prepared and brought the backpack with the cover. It fits well and seem sturdy--and it chased away the rain! So, it works, but perhaps not for the intended reason? (I'm pretty sure it would work for that as well. :-))

As a college student, I like products that offer reliability at an affordable price. While it is not always possible, from time to time I will come across a product that meets all the criteria. This was one of them.So why the 3 star rating?The product does what it's supposed to do-it keeps water out. (I tested it by pouring an entire water bottle which slid graciously off the material. Not one drop went through.)The problem was the sizing. I measured my backpack and added an extra inch to make sure the product fit. I even followed another reviewer who said to size up and ordered the 40-50L thinking it would fit just fine as it was a size bigger than the recommended option. Needless to say, it was too small. Sure it fit just fine BUT only if my bag is empty and I squeeze all the air out. If I add my laptop and 1 inch binder, then the sides aren't long enough to cover my bag.Considering I followed their chart and even went as far as upsizing, I was quite dissapointed. Sure, I reccomend the product but you might want to think twice about tje size you opt for.Update: The company contacted me immediately after posting my review. They sent a replacement free of charge along with an apology. The new size fit perfecly. My bag is no fully protected.I am very satisfied with the product and their customer service.

Great rain cover. I've used to cover my 'ComfyDegree - Packable Ultralight Hiking Backpack'. It's kept all my walking kit in my bag dry, even when in heavy wind and rain for a couple of hours.
