Do you have to moisturise after using this serum?

Hi there. No, the Face Serum itself is a Face Moisturiser. It's a highly-concentrated blend of plant oils and you don't need much - just a few drops rubbed between your palms to (warm the oils), before applying. It's an all-day face moisturiser, that's flexible enough to be used at any time; in the morning, during the day, or at night-time. As it's made entirely from botanicals and natural ingredients, it's safe to use every day, and at both ends of the day if you wish (first thing in the morning - and last thing at night). I dont know which would be best for me either this serum or the anti aging moaituriser that you do which is also an oil?

They are very similar so I doubt it would make a large amount of difference, I've had good progress with this serum and the night one. A little goes a long long way, if your skin feels oily later in the day or shines as if oily, your using too much.

It says use 2 to 4 drops but this is a pump dispenser how much would you use and how long would you expect it to last?

Hi there, thanks for your question, I appreciate it. You're right, this is less exact than using the other Face Serums that have pipette dispenser, which enable you to completely control what is dispensed. With the Face Serum, the '2-4 drops' instruction is used more as a generic guide; visually, that small amount will be your minimum dose (and it's actually not difficult to judge that amount once the bottle is in your hand).

I tend to use a lot more of the Face Serum, and in reality, probably as much as 10-15 drops (but then I have particular sensitive skin issues, and a larger does really helps me to solve that). As the ingredients are 100% natural, and they absorb slowly, there's no such thing as using too much (the limit is more based on the fact that using a lot, will result in a sheen on your face - until it absorbs fully. You therefore build small amounts until your face feels refreshed). It's best to use the instruction on the bottle and pack as a starting guide: Use one (or two pumps), to roughly dispense what looks like around 2-4 drops into your palm.

Then, as directed, rub this between your palms to warm the natural oils, and then apply gently and evenly around the face.

Depending on your skin type (and particularly if your skin is dry), is that absorbs quickly, and seems to leave no trace, then apply more. In other words, this isn't particularly a product that you have to be too precious or exact with. As the amounts that you will dispense will vary (even from use to use), it's impossible to accurately state how long each bottle lasts (whereas I can be very accurate with the Morning, Daytime and Nigh Time Recovery Moisturisers – they last around 8 months - and sometimes a little more).

As a very rough guide (and it has to be a very wide margin), I find that a bottle will usually last an absolutely minimum of two months. Having said that, it's not impossible for a bottle to last double that.

However, I'll also have a go at answering here too: The differences between this Face Serum and the Morning, Daytime and Night Time Moisturisers is reasonably subtle.

The one thing that unites them, is that they are all Serums. This means that the ingredients in all products are very concentrated and potent. In other words, the bottles last an exceptionally long time, as you don't need to use too much (typically 8 months for the 50 ml bottles: Morning, Daytime and Night Time Recovery).

The differences between them is perhaps more subtle: They all moisturise and hydrate skin from a deep-pore level. They all restore skin elasticity and soften skin. The Anti-Aging Moisturisers contain ingredients that are a little more biased to reducing the visible appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, with medium to long-term use, although this Face Serum will accomplish this too.

There are other, more subtle differences: The Morning and Day Time Moisturisers contains lighter plant extracts that absorb quicker and are lighter in texture. This means that you'd be able to go out soon after application, without much of a sheen on your face. The Night Time Recovery contains much denser heavier plant extracts and oils: This Moisturiser is designed to be slow-release, and to absorb much more slowly throughout the night, to give you boosted complexion by morning. That's why the thicker Night Time Recovery is used as an overnight moisturiser – it works whilst you sleep.

This Face Serum (this listing: Silver pack), sits between those two options, and is therefore a great all-round face moisturiser: It's a thick, concentrated serum; not as thick as the Night Time Recovery, but very slightly thicker in viscosity than the Morning, Daytime and Night Time Recovery versions.

Another big difference between them all, is the scents (which are all supplied by natural plant oils too).

This Face Serum (Silver Pack), is scented with Geranium Bourbon and Black Pepper. It's a complex and luxurious scent. Even though it's light and floral (almost like a Rose), there is a hint of musk and spice from the black pepper. In theory, those two scents are at opposite ends of the scent spectrum, but they combine beautifully.

The scent for the Morning Moisturiser is supplied by Peppermint and Pine Needle: The Peppermint is great at waking the senses, and provides a subtle, refreshing and cooling feeling to the skin.

The scent for the Night Time Moisturiser is designed to help relax you and aid sleep: Ylang-Ylang (which is an exotic, dense-smelling orchid), blended with Lavender.
