Very sturdy. Happy with purchase.
****update November 2024 ****Still loving this pit. I have gotten it so hot that the finger thick log holder melted away the edges yet the pit was unbiased. This was a great purchase on my part and recommend it. Cheaper ones rust out in 2 years or fewer.Thank you for a great product.****update Oct 19th 2023****Still outstanding firepit. Patina has set in even though u keep it coveted. NO signs of rust thinning anywhere. I am elated with this purchase*Christine's husband here*Initial thoughts, WOWHeavy duty indeed.I am not a welder, however welds look plentiful. It is not 30 inches in diameter, closer to 29.5That may affect your spark screen choice.Large drain hole, about 2 inches in diameter.Wife and I could lift easily to set in place. Average strength adult male should not have a big issue moving this.Tossed some wood in it and sparked it up the first day.Love the bowl shape. It seemed to spread the fire out nicely compared to the drum type I owned.I will be surprised if thus thing rusts through in 8 or 10 years.Bite the bullet and get one.

I'm very happy I bit the bullet and paid twice the price ...
I'm very happy I bit the bullet and paid twice the price of the big box fire bowls. This is one time where you really will get what you pay for.The good - it's thick, it's heavy, and it's simple. The bowl is welded to the base. There's a drainage hole in the bowl so I'm not worried about covering it. It's guaranteed for life - I'm not sure if that's my life or the bowl's, but it came with a signed certificate and I'm certain the details are there. It's easy to use and lovely both in use and when it's just sitting there.Be forewarned- it's HEAVY. The shipping box was just an average rectangular cardboard box with no reinforcement or padding. It ripped through where the base has corners (not all designs have feet, some bases are round). If the path to the bowl's new home had been one leg longer the box would have been lost.It does rust. Within two rain showers the bowl had developed what appears to be a patina of very superficial rust. I'm not concerned about this- the manufacturer covers it in detail on their website. The drainage hole does drain, and will drain ash as well as water. This might not be a problem on a grass or gravel setting, but on a stone surface you might want to place a largish can inside the base beneath the hole.I found it very beneficial to visit Ohio Flame's website before purchasing the bowl and through Amazon.

Love it!!!
Love this fire pit!! Very heavy & sturdy. Built to last. I purchased a round piece of glass to lay on top. It doubles as a table for entertaining when I'm not using the firepit. Placed unused pieces of wood inside. It looks totally cool and industrial design with the glass top. Placed stainless steel bowl underneath to catch the ash that drops down through the drain hole. Didn't need a drain hole, however the hole and bowl helps with ease to clean out the ash.. otherwise, I would have to tip on its side to clean and it is very heavy so the hole actually works. Great pit, you wont be disappointed.

Solid Ohio made quality
If you don't mind the surface rust appearance, aka patina, then you can't go wrong with this simple, solid design. It is taking me a while to relearn how to start a small fire. My usual fires involve a 6' fire pit and heavily laden with cedar fire starter. With this one, a person must dial the start way back to the 1st or 2nd notch. Once going, no probs at all with this unit. In fact, the design is so simple and unobtrusive that the mood is more focused on the fire and it's effects. Plus, it is made in Ohio, hopefully of American quality steel.

Best Fire pit
Purchased the 36" Liberty Fire Pit with Hollow Base in July of 2022 and have used it now for a few months. It holds plenty of fire wood and looks great. It is built very well and I expect this fire pit to last me a lifetime. It took on a rust patina just like the details and manual states and It looks great.

The fire pit you've been looking for
If you're like me you've bought about 10 junky hundred and fifty dollar fire pits over the past 20 years from home stores because they are all that they carry but they rust out or melt apart and now you're looking for something better - well you found it - I got the 30" model and I'm super happy with it - its 1/4" steel and made to last and in my opinion looks really good although I will say this company makes some thousand dollar artistic versions that are out of my price range but look even more awesome - I dont ever plan on having to use the lifetime warranty as this should last longer than I will but it's nice knowing they stand behind thier products

Perfect but expensive
Want a fire pit that will never burn through? This is it. Won’t rust out either? This is it. One of the best out there. But expensive. And if you want the cover for it, better cough up about as much as you pay for this thing. I don’t have the cover… this thing will burn fast though so be ready to feed it constantly. But will keep you warm sitting outside and sipping your favorite beverages and throwing the ball to your doggy. Keep in mind, this is no Lowe’s cheapo replace every year fire pit. It’s heavy, it’s real, and will last. Just burn wood, paper, cardboard, leaves, etc. no plastic. It’ll probably take it but it’s too nice to try and ruin it.

I regret buying this
Its an overpriced piece of scrap metal, amazing business idea. Kudos to the Ohio Flame team. I went ahead and bought something worth the money this time from another brand. I will take this as an expensive lesson learned.
