Quality Product That's Easy to Assemble and Use
This is a very nice little net. I wasn't expecting much when I placed the order but ended up extremely pleased by this thing. I quickly ordered it because I noticed several butterflies and dragonflies stuck inside my parents' screened-in pool at their home. I had already seen dead butterfly inside the enclosure, and with nothing better to do during my vacation, I figured I'd play the role as pacifist by catching and freeing these guys. The net wasn't difficult at all to assemble. The round ring of the net was obviously separated in equal parts, so fitting them took seconds. The polearm of the net is a simple twist to loosen, extend, and tighten. I'm no expert in net quality, but the netting material itself seemed very sturdy and well-attached to the ring.Within minutes of assembling, I was able to catch three butterflies and one dragonfly with ease! Due to the net being light, the 5-ish foot extendibility, and the net opening being amply wide, it didn't take long to get the insects into the net. The length of the net also made it simple to turn the it so as to close off their only exit.Overall, this is a quality little nifty net that served its purpose perfectly. I gave it to my parents in hopes that they, too, will continue catching and freeing these helpless creatures. I won't hold my breath though lol.

Garter snakes
I use this net to remove garter snakes from the yard, just get to many once in a while. I tied 2 feet of paracord to to the bottom of the net so when I release the snake I hold on to the end of the rope and dump the snake out. Once the snake is in the net turn the net to close the opening, you can pull on the bottom of the rope to tighten the net around the ring so it wont climb out as easy. Work well for catch and release.Just beware garter snakes can put out an awful smell when threaten. So far the net has held up well for thin material. Happy hunting. Using same net for 3 years now.

Took a while to get it to telescope
I tried a lot to get it to telescope and then just gave up, it has a little bend from the shipping and I thought that was it, but when I saw that it really was to go up to 5 feet I had to turn a lot harder to get it to that length. It was a little tricky figuring out how to get the net to go onto the ring, but be patient with that part of it. There are no instructions. It worked in getting a lizard to drop its tail, but did not catch the lizard. The net is deep and seems good and sturdy.

fewer moths with one of these
Cabbage moths, the white ones, can be devastating. This net works quite well for catching them. I like the telescoping function. Long reach when needed, or retract the telescoping beam when not needed. Sturdier that way too. Recommended.

Excellent Net for Bug Catching!
I currently live on the third floor of an apartment and like to keep the patio door open for airflow. There's no screen door and occasionally something flies into the apartment. I originally ordered this after a small bird flew in and was quite difficult to catch (it ended badly with my cat catching the bird). Yesterday, I returned from a walk and there were 6-10 wasps flying around my living room! There must've been a weird wind gust or something that drove them in. Grabbed my net and was able to easily catch all the wasps and release them outside. The net is made of light material, so all of the wasps that I caught and released outside were able to fly away, unharmed. This is a great bug net - very light and easy to use. The handle length is great, giving a longer reach in catching bugs without harming them.

Great customer service!
I purchased this insect/butterfly net to use to catch various insects around my home and also for my six year old grandson to use so we could capture and examine the critters around my home when he visits. I was impressed with the design and the heavy duty feel of the telescoping handle. My grandson was actually visiting when I received the net so I put it together in a matter of 5 minutes and he began to telesope the handle and swing it around in the yard. He's six so he can get pretty enthusiastically exhuberant and into "make believe pretending" so in a few minutes I had to ask him to slow it down a bit as I was concerned with him damaging our new toy. When I inspected it everything was fine but the fine netting did have a couple of small holes. At first I was disappointed and felt the product was inferior so I waited until I received an email from the seller and explained what had happened. Linda, the seller, was very concerned and explained they had tried different netting products and settled on the current lighter netting so that insects with delicate wings would not get damaged when captured. She explained they have a sturdier fishing type net that might be more suitable. She explained I could ask for my money back with no return but she would send me another net to replace the damaged net and also send the sturdier fishing type net as a "gift" for my grandson. I have received the replacement net but have yet to see the second net but that is supposed to be coming in a separate shipment. Either way, I'm very satisfied with the response and wish them well!

Cheap but can get the job done
Bought this to gather bugs for an Entomology class project and for the most part it was "good enough". The ring bent after a few weeks of use but the net was still usable. If you need something sturdy that will last for extended use then I suggest looking for something else.

Hope it catches bats!
Bought this because I’ve now had 4 bats decide to fly around my living room at night. I’m literally sleeping with this net next to my bed. Lol. It is well made, lightweight and the handle extends.
