Firstly, this does not look like a $700 fan. It is poorly engineered. They pieces do not line up properly, so the there is spaces between the fan blades (2 of the 3) the housings and flashing do not line up either. Looks like a very cheap fan. Not the level of finish I was expecting.Secondly, I purchased this fan for the smart-home aspect. To connect to Nest or Alexa, you first need to register it with the Modern Forms app. I downloaded the app, and connected to the fan's Wi-Fi. Upon connection, it said that the fan needed a firmware update to continue. It says it downloaded the firmware successfully, and to re-connect. Every time you do so, it says it needs anther firmware update. I have tried going through this process at least 30 time, using 3 different devices (2 iPhones, iPad). Nothing except message that firmware needs updating. No support available by phone that I can find.Thirdly, small "squeak" in the fan when operating at its max speed.If I didn't transship this fan to the Caribbean, I would have returned it.Looks very (very) cheap for the price. I have purchased $200 Hunter fans that are more well constructed that this.

I like the fan overall. Installation took time, but not anything unexpected. I had no issues with the wall remote install or function. Likewise, installing the app, account creation and adding the fan was easy to do. My complaint is that this is a premium fan with extensive images and documentation around it’s Smart integration with NEST and other devices. I learned however, that they are not yet compatible with Nest, This was a key reason for selecting Modern Forms, and I feel deceived by the false information. I can’t get a firm timeline, but their literature dated in 2018 listed Nest compatibility and we’re now 7 months into 2019. So very frustrated. Had this been clearly explained with a timeline, I would raise my rating.

Excellent fan, design is awesome and fits perfectly for our modern/mid century modern home and deck. The wall control is WiFi so it doesn’t have to be hard wired to the fan but it needs a power line. It does not come with a remote. You have to use the app and on my Apple it works good but not excellent. Over all construction of the fan is excellent, my electrician friend said it was definitley made with quality in mind and it looks like it was manually inspected prior to being boxed.

Looks great and is very easy to operate.

Nice fan, useless Android app. There is no dedicated portable remote. The Android App never works, always crashes before i can register the Fan. For now i have no way to control the fan other than the wall switch.I am very sorry that I purchased two of these fans. Modern Forms has to step up and fix this!

We purchased this fan from the recommendation of a lighting store. Two things:It does not move much air. We have two other 5 blade fans and you can feel the air move on low settings. This fan is terrible even when on high settings. I wish I would have looked at the air flow.Problem two: we also purchased this because it could be used with the mobile app. But it's a huge pain because the app continually forgets the password. It won't save any login information even though we check the box to save it. So when I go to use the fan, it won't work until I log on again. I Do NOT have this problem with other apps on my phone.I would not recommend this fan or the use of the phone app.

I had an electrician install. Looks great and when it’s on it functions well.. but.. as others have said, the app is complete garbage with zero support. You cannot connect. It does firmware update over and over again. And that’s IF I’m lucky enough to have it show up in WiFi- most of the time it doesn’t show up to attempt a connection. It’s terrible and after reading reviews all over the internet, I know it’s not just me. Wish I’d read these prior to my purchase. It’s a shame because the fan looks pretty slick. Update: I got it to connect!!!!! Magically. Now it’s working great.

My second Modern Forms fan. Bought this one local at lighting showroom at an great price. Replaced an old hunter fan from the 1980's. This Fan looks absolutely amazing, unique design, super functional, smart, virtually silent except for some air moving. love th wood blades. However, the fan took some time to install, but well worth it. I paired it to Amazon Alexa. My rating: is an 10 out of 10!
