"BEET HORSERADISH" (Sauces) "CANADA", Horseradish Mixed with Beet Packaged in Glass Jar, 250g. "Zakuson"

I truly needed to have written this well-deserved EXCELLENT review a long time ago - - last month, when the product was first received. This red horseradish is totally and completely amazingly delicious - - and we're quite picky in this house when it comes to horseradish. First off, I must provide a little background that has everything to do with this company's customer service, which will only prove yet one more factor in why this "a bit pricey" horseradish is so, so worth it. Here 'tis: I am guilty of having waited too long to start the purchasing process for Passover and when I did finally commence with it all, I, quite frankly, must shamefacedly admit that I was pretty much making my buying decisions based on the product's ability to be delivered to me prior to the first night of celebration. This is not my usual approach to spending money or planning an important event and I certainly do not recommend it as a default style Nonetheless, it is what I did this time. Then, when an email from Amazon came through soon after the order was placed indicating that the expected delivery date had moved to a span that had the potential of actual arrival taking place two days after that first night, I went through the process of attempting to cancel the order. Immediately, a Representative from the company reached out to me via email inquiring as to the specifics behind my request to cancel. When I responded with my need to have the horseradish here by the first Seder and I now was uncertain as to that happening, the Rep pointed out that the delivery window also included potential delivery for before that first Seder - - that they just are committed to being honest and thus the expanded delivery timeframe so that the customer has the whole picture, however, she expressed her strong confidence that I would get the product in plenty of time and before the actual Seder...and would I please consider giving it/them a chance. So I did...and the bottle of horseradish arrived at the earlier end of the delivery window...meaning that I did get it, not only on time, but a full two days before! And then we tasted it! OMG! Yes, it has that pretty, rosy red/pink coloring from the sugar beets and yes it it just a teeny bit sweeter than the regular, old standby, plain white horseradish, BUT unlike virtually all of the other red horseradishes, this one was not all sugar, skewing the taste of the horseradish into something unrecognizable as horseradish, making it just some sort of sweet concoction that only remotely resembles horseradish. NO, this red horseradish has a delightful, full-bodied, horseradishy flavor that is both distinctive, as well as, flavorful and complex. I mean, it wasn't just hot, either - - oh no, there is so much more to this horseradish than...horseradish root. These folks clearly devoted a lot of time, effort and talent into creating a most remarkable sauce that serves as an enhancement to just about any meal...even after Passover has ended (and/or you're not serving gefilte fish). There is not even one lick of bitterness in this jar (another common disappointment in the others)...and the texture is unique, too. Soft, smooth, but full-bodied. Feels substantial on the tongue and so damn delicious. This wonderful combination of sharp, sweet, spicy and decadence. We will be, from now on, buying ONLY THIS horseradish - - dear price and everything, because it's worth it...and I absolutely must reach out to that Rep and thank her, thank her, thank her, for giving me the chance to give them a chance. Can't thank her enough. Folks! BUY this!!!!! It is a work of art.

My paternal grandmother made beet horseradish every year. We waited with great anticipation every Easter for her beet horseradish and everyone in the family loved it. I've checked every speciality grocery store in Southern CA without success. Thank you Zakuson your beet horseradish it's very close to my grandmother though she added more horseradish. I will definitely reorder!

This product gave me heartburn so bad, I thought I was going to die. I had trouble finding beet horseradish in my local markets and thought I would try this (for Easter). OMG, the company that makes this owes me a bottle of TUMS!! I couldn't sleep all night. (And it wasn't because I consumed too much). I grew up on beet horseradish, this stuff is crazy out of control. I don't have acid reflux or any other kind of that condition. It didn't taste bad, but, for real??

I'd never heard of it until a friend mentioned it. He'd purchased it and a former U-S Senator asked him if that was a beet product. When he found out it was a horse radish/beet condiment, he bought some. And, so did I, via Amazon.It is excellent. Hot with beet sweetness!I'm gifting it to folks.I rated it 5 stars.
