Fuser 87 Glass Kiln With Infinitely Variable Power Switch

I bought this machine from an owner because I wanted to get into fusing and lampworking. The owner provided the original purchase documents and I was able to confirm that the machine was only four months old. She said she was selling it because she wasn't getting the hang of lampworking. I used it for the first time two months after I purchased it and most of my pieces shattered in the kiln. I created another batch of beads and a few of these shattered as well. I looked up the model on the Internet and saw that other users were having issues with this model...something to do with the coils in the lid if I recall. This kiln is sitting in my garage holding down a stack of poster-board. I did my research and purchased a Jen-Ken model that has worked great. Perhaps I purchased a dud, but this kiln is priced a couple hundred dollars below what other jewelry kilns are going for. You can pay a lot more; I'm just saying what worked for me.
