Leslie Sansone: 40 Plus Workout Walk 2 Miles [DVD]
L**N
Good speed but not as interesting as the first DVD.
This was Leslie with a big group exercising together. Some men included in the exercising. Leslie looked tired and her hair was a bit wild. Just like me on my average day.I love Leslie's one mile DVD and how it marks the distance and time exercised. This one did not. I may continue to search thru Leslie's products to see if I find anything else compatible. Will donate these to thrift store.

Effective Two Mile Workout
Featuring Leslie Sansone and a group of walkers, while 40 Plus Workout is labeled as being from 2004, judging by the clothes and hair it is clearly older than that. In fact, from the way Leslie conducts the work out - she says to march in place instead of walk in place and has everyone check their heart rate - I'd say this is one of her earliest taped workouts.Hair and clothes aside, 40 Plus Workout is an excellent two mile walk. While this is early Leslie Sansone, all of her basic moves are included - besides walking in place there are knee lifts, kicks, and side steps. The emphasis in this DVD is walking in place, walking back-and-forth, sidesteps and kicks - there are no knee lifts until the second mile of the DVD and even then there are very few knee lifts. Still, even without a lot of knee lifts this is a good workout. Leslie is her usual happy, somewhat giddy, and at times a bit goofy, self in this DVD. She has a diverse cast of walkers of all ages ,shapes, and sizes and seems to enjoy walking with them. This is one of the few DVDs where I actually felt like I was in a class with Leslie walking alongside her - a feeling I really enjoyed.40 Plus Workout may be one of Leslie Sansone's older workout but it is still an effective two mile workout.

Fuels motivation
I checked this video out at the library along with the regular two-mile walk. I absolutely love it. Yes, it's from the early 90s and there's a little too much hairspray and thick black eyeliner, but Leslie's enthusiasm and encouragement make you tend to forget about it. Now I look forward to getting up in the morning and exercising before I even start my work day. Before, it was the last thing I'd think about doing, and then it wouldn't get done at all and I'd be disappointed that I let another day go by without taking better care of myself. I found the regular two-mile walk too difficult; I thought I was going to keel over dead by the 3/4 mile mark because there were so many lunges, but the over-40 tape is just right for those of us who've kept saying "I'll start working out tomorrow." If it's a little too easy, just add some of the arm movements or knee lifts and kicks when she's instructing just marching in place (like a couple of the people in the tape do), or add some wrist or ankle weights. As Leslie says so often (to paraphrase), it's not about fancy moves, it's about keeping moving, keeping your heart rate up, changing your body for the good. I've just ordered this tape and I'll definitely buy a few more just for variety.

I Am Leslie's B*tch!
I love Leslie Sansone's videos! I have many of them. I get tired of watching the same ones over and over so I try to buy a "new" one every now and then. I saw this one and I don't own any of the "Over 40" ones, so I thought I'd give it a try. First of all, it does the job. The moves are simple and easy to follow. It gets your body moving and you sweat. You are getting a good workout. It's not complicated. All of this in 30 minutes, so how can you go wrong? However, this video says its from 2004 but they are all wearing 80's style exercise outfits and have the 80's style "big hair" and lots of makeup on. It's kinda funny in a way. SO if you want to move your body doing simple moves and get a good work out go ahead and buy it. The entertainment value is the kitchy 80/90's style outfits and hair! That cracked me up! Watching the men in this video was funny too. If this WAS actually filmed in 2004, then that makes it even funnier! Bottom line is that I felt really good after doing this workout...I really felt like I accomplished something and it felt GREAT! Go Leslie!

Not as good as "Two-mile Walk" video
I bought this video to alternate with the Leslie Sansome "Two-mile Walk" video I already own. I'm middle-aged and overweight, but I found this video not only too easy, but not very interesting to use. An excercise tape has to hold up to hundreds of uses without becoming mind-numbingly boring, and this one doesn't cut it. But if, like me, you aren't in very good shape and not very coordinated, you'll probably like Leslie Sansome's "Two-mile Walk." It's more attractive (a mural in the background of a serene harbor gives you something to look at the zillionth time you go through the tape), and a little more fun. By showing a gauge on screen of how far you've walked by doing the tape, you also get a sense of progress and a desire to make it to the next milestone. I will definitely try other Leslie Sansome video tapes, though, because I like her friendly and encouraging screen presence very much, and appreciate the way she gives advance warning when she changes steps.

Walk Aerobics is for fun and fitness
Purchasing Leslie Sansone's Walk Aerobics 40-Plus Workout has been one of the best decisions I have made. It's refreshing and encouraging to see that those participating on the video are of different shapes and sizes, and different levels of fitness, instead of 'body beautiful'. The exercises are easy to perform and at 30-35 minutes in length the workout is not too long. Being overweight, over 50 and out of condition, I am happy to find a workout that I can actually perform comfortably and feel enervated afterwards, and now motivated to exercise daily. I have now purchased several other videos in the series. I recommend this video to anyone who is not interested or does not have the time to go to the gym, doesn't want to pound the pavements and wants an easy-to-perform exercise routine that will greatly improve one's overall fitness level, have fun and burn calories at the same time.
