Must have tool.
Worked great! I wouldn’t try working on garage springs without this type tool. Padded handle was useful. Fit in tightening hole properly - no slipping.

Solid Rods with Just Enough End Grip to Keep Control
REMEMBER DIYers, THERE IS MECHANICAL FORCE THAT IS DANGEROUS IF NOT CONTROLLED.DO NOT LET YOUR BODY GET IN FRONT OF THE WINDING BARS OR THE SPRINGS.Watch a professional You Tube video and learn some tricks before doing it yourself.Despite there being - some - negative reviews, overall these seemed to be liked by most.Today, I just finished using them to adjust a double spring garage door. They fit well into the winding cone with just a little looseness. I unwound both springs counting as I went and noted the number. This is so I'd know both springs were identically wound when done. At about 6 turns, the tension was strong enough that it took two arms to turn. YET, these winding bars did not noticeable bend, and the did not want to slide out of the winding cone. (One will fall out if pointing down to the floor with nothing holding it.) At 7-1/2 turns I could barely turn them, and then and only then did the winding bar bend a little. That is good steel. So I'm very happy with the product performance.
