Actually, after getting to know this radio and program it properly, I'd give it a 4 1/2 star rating. The only knock against it is the fact that you can't reduce the volume of the voice annunciations. I've successfully programmed it with HAM repeaters, FRS and GMRS frequencies and its work great. It makes it into all of the local repeaters with great audio reports. The best part (besides only costing $10) is the small size and loud clear audio. No, this won't replace a 5 watt radio with a large antenna, but it works better than expected for under short communications. (1 mile from talkie to talkie)The convenience of a radio that small in your pocket that can be charged with a standard phone charger cannot be understated. Note that it is the same radio as the Retevis RT20 and the WLN KD-C80. Actually, the only program to use for all three radios is the KD-C80 v1.25 program. The Retevis RT20 cost $19.95, and this one is the same radio for half the price. The WLN KD-C80 also cost around $20. The only difference I can see is that the Zastone is gold colored. I hope to buy 6 more for a friend for his family cruise. He's been using the larger Baofeng BF-888s with great success, but wanted something more discreet.

Bought 3 and used them on a cruise trip in Canada where there was no cell phone service. They worked good.

The voice is very loud and has a Chinese accent. I have not been able to use the radio yet because there are no instructions. I tried to program it with the CHIRP software and could not. This radio is garbage.
