Great Umbrella, good walking stick too! Very windy here and withstands blowing inside out without breaking.

I have several Fulton umbrellas for various use - from a telescopic size for rucksacks/ work cases, through to several of their Stormshield umbrellas for weekend trips in the rain. As others have noted - the Typhoon could be improved by having a leather or grippy coated handle. Personally, I have found the handle fine in use. The canopy is of a decent size and the frame format looks well designed to handle strong winds. Buy one - you'll feel like a modern John Steed :-)

This would be better with a leather, or even rubber coated handle. The plastic used makes it a little slippery in the hand which is not ideal given the ‘storm proof’ design and makes it awkward to hold still in a moderate breeze. It’s a little longer than my previous umbrellas and I have to raise my arm a little to carry by the handle, walking stick-style, so end up carrying mid-shaft. I’d go for a shorter Fulton with a leather handle next time.

I didn't listen to the other reviews, thought I was different. It's a pretty umbrella, although the tip fell off almost immediately. A single 30 mph gust ripped the metal from the fabric, so as much as the mechanism could be good to reset the umbrella, as it came off the fabric it was done. Was looking to upgrade from basic £10 umbrellas, but this lasted just as long.

I purchased this umbrella to replace one that I misplaced. It is meant to have a rubberised handle. It does not. I should have returned it but thought I'd just make do. As I've used it more and more I realised how important the rubber handle was. Fulton are a brilliant brand of umbrella. This must have been discontinued stock or a different model. Disappointing.
