Teacher didn't like this edition because they left out something he liked
Teacher didn't like this edition because they left out something he liked. I didn't enjoy this class. If financial calculations are your thing, go for it. This was for a required class. I certainly wouldn't buy it otherwise.

This is a specific technical book, and is a ...
This is a specific technical book, and is a MUST HAVE If you are in the engineering, construction, and project management industry. Project Management is the art and science of coordinating people, equipment, materials, money, and schedules to complete a specified project on time and within approved cost. The project manager works for the project, although he or she may be employed by the owner, designer, or contractor. The dominance of the book is on the triple constraint as an equilateral balance and a recipe for projects' success: Arranged in a way that has been adopted by global corporations as their real estate delivery process; this books covers the entire life cycle of a project: | Project Definition >> Project Scope >> Project Budgeting >> Project Planning >> Project Scheduling >> Project Tracking >> Project Close out | Prof. Oberlender covers the in's and out's of each of the processes with practical advice and invaluable lessons learned from decades of experience on construction sites. Practical and immediately useful
Just this past week, I was talking through the draft project execution plan with the delivery team during the kickoff meeting, one of the project partners asked how we put the job plan together so quickly - I referred him to this book!

This is the book that Engineers/owners/contractors involved in various projects need. Most universities teach Project management to Civil Engineering students but in a very sketch way, perhaps because of some instructors’ lack of field experience. This book fills that gap by teaching all the relevant topics you need to know to start/progress in your Projects. And it has a comprehensive example at the very end where you get to apply the knowledge you just learnt. Note: The 3rd edition doesn’t have end of chapter questions and the chapter on TQM. BTW Prof. Oberlender is involved in writing the PE Construction Exam.
