This is the most wonderful Basmati rice in the world !!! The flavor is highly aromatic to the point that my whole house smells like the rice. The grains are super long and very defined despite being fluffy. This is a premium rice that deserves a place in your pantry if you love Indian cuisine at home. I love it so much I eat it plain. I used to cook Basmati rice the way that my dear Indian friend Uma taught me. Rinsing the rise, soaking it for 20 minutes, frying it a bit in ghee, and then putting it in the boiling water and covering it. Then let thing the rise rest for 10 minutes after the cooking time was over. Now I have an inexpensive rice cooker that is one of my best ever purchases.With the rice cooker I rinse the rice very, very well, then I soak it it for 25 minutes, rinse the soaked rice in cold water and place in rice cooker with 1 tsp salt. The ration of rice to water is 1 to 1.5, that means 1 cup rice soaked and rinsed, to 1.5 cups of water, 2 cups rice to 3 cups water., and so on. Don’t add any oil or butter. Cover rice cooker and let it run its cycle. Once it’s done, let sit covered for about 5-10 minutes. Uncover and fluff with a fork and serve. Store in fridge and warm in microwave, adding about 2 tablespoons of water and covering tightly- this will steam the rice. Yum! Hope it helps.

I bought this rice because I needed a loose, non-sticky rice for jambalaya and some Indian-inspired dishes. I absolutely love it. It’s very long-grain, flavorful, and hearty. I’ve tried rinsing it before hand, soaking it, or just throwing it in the pot and it always turns out great. You pretty much can’t mess it up.Some reviews have said that you can find it cheaper elsewhere. I haven’t seen it in any local stores, and it seemed worth the price to me.Some reviews claim that it doesn’t have the perfume-y aroma that usually comes from basmati. The bag I received most definitely does. When I cook it, the soft smell fills the whole house. It’s lovely.Highly recommend.

I have used this rice for over five years and like it. This was the first time I ordered it from this seller because of its good price. The taste was the same, so I will keep ordering from this seller. I always let the rice soak in water for at least half an hour with a table yogurt. Then wash it twice; it helps the taste, color, and smell of rice.

This rice is exactly what I wanted for my Mediterranean inspired dishes. I wanted a long grain rice that would accept a lot of Mediterranean spice and have a less boring flavor. This rice does exactly that. It also cooks very well ina rice cooker. In order for the length in the grain to show up you will have to pre-soak the rice for around 30 minutes before starting the rice cooker though. This is really important in order for the rice to elongate totally.The bag the rice came in was a nice, rugged, bag that will not fall apart easily. Packaged perfectly. A little expensive so I will be looking at stores to get it cheaper. Wish they had a 5 pound bag instead of the 10 pound bag. Overall good quality rice.

This rice is exceptional. I will admit when I first got the package from Amazon I felt it was quite expensive for $39.99. Then I made some of this rice and it turned out beautifully - long basmati strands, fairly quick to cook, and fragrant smell. I do think it can be priced better for the future. I am big into basmati rice and this package should be priced around $25-30; compared to similar brands and bag sizes. But with that said... it is well worth the money! I will/have bought again.
