Futuro Stabilizing Back Support, Assorted Small/Medium

My wife had one of these and needed another. They help her back pain tremendously!

This product is good. It has reduced my back pain. The best part is one can wear it and carry out all normal activities without any discomfort.

I recently purchased this product (I am a 62 year old male) to replace another Futuro lower back brace that I have worn out. Futuro no longer makes the brace I was using. This brace stabilizes a larger area of the lower back than the previous one I owned. When I first received this item I was skeptical that it would work as well, but have been surprised that it is an improvement over the older brace and so far it seems a bit more comfortable to wear. I have spinal stenois in my lower lumbar region caused by disc degeneration above and below L4 (comfimed by recent MRI). I need additional support from a brace like this for golfing, power walking and doing chores around my house that may irritate my lower back. This is not a brace for heavy lifting, but for giving your lumbar region extra support and keeping the vertebra lined up. Golfing is one thing I do that can really bother my lower back, but I can walk 9 holes in hot humid weather and not end up having a sore back the rest of the day. As I use this item through the next months I will update my review with any pros or cons that I have about this brace. However at this time I would say that if you need lower back support for spinal issues I would highly recommend that you try this item. The cost is modest for the benefits as far as I am concerned. One comment I would make is about the sizing, make sure you measure yourself around your naval area and do not use your pants waist size. I have a 34 inch waist and the small/medium size just fits me. I do believe that the material will streatch over time, as did the previous Futuro back stabilizing brace I replaced.

I’m 84. When I do much bending over my back doesn’t hold up well. So I use this for added support. It works very well.

This belt has pads at the spine to apply pressure. This helps when laying down and gives some addtional support when using lumbar support to sit, but it is hard to keep the pads alligned correctly with your spine and they don't seem very effective when standing. The belt is easy to get on and off as the smaller stretch belts attach to the primary strap, so you only need one attachment to put it on once you have it adjusted initially. The belts that I have used that I prefer cost $500 or more, so this may be a good comprimise if you don't want to spend the money.

This really helps my back when it’s feeling tired or strained. Much better quality than other brands I tried.

It really helps minimize back pain. I didn't buy it to use for lifting. It was a desperate attempt to find something to prevent back pain when I'm on my feet for long periods at a time such as when I go shopping in a really huge mall or visit a theme park. I wear it under loose clothing and it helps me to get through the day without having to find a seat every 5 minutes. It seems to minimize compression of the discs in my spine and supports my muscles. One downside it that it is itchy if you wear it directly on your skin. It is best to wear a vest under it. The other thing is that it is a bit bulky under clothes. That being said, when you find something that really helps your pain, you over look these other things.
