Math + Fashion = Fun: Move to the head of the class with math puzzles to help you pass! (American Girl) Spiral-bound – May 22, 2012

This is one of my daughter's favorite activity books. She already loves math, but this makes it even more fun for her. The book is filled with creative hands-on activities that combine math exercises with fashion ideas; both things my 8 year old enjoys! The activities would also be fun for kids who struggle with math because it gives it a purpose. The other day my daughter woke up and the first thing she wanted to do was play "store" with the paper money that comes with the book. We spend the whole morning taking turns with putting together outfits from my closet and playing the role of customer and cashier. The cashier had to come up with the pricing, add it up, and make change (my daughter made the rules) and all of this was inspired by the book. I can't complain about an interactive activity that involves learning and no actual money! :)

I bought this book for my 8 year old daughter as a reward, when she did very well on a math test at school. She dove right in and didn't want to put it down. It is a perfect gift for a 7-8 year old. It was the perfect level of challenge for my daughter, she loves math but is not quite a whiz yet. The book has different math puzzles to figure out in fun ways. If you are wrong in one of the math problems then the puzzle doesn't come out right so you have to go back and find your mistake. I really appreciated that aspect rather than me looking for her mistakes. My daughter loves the jokes the book has for her to decode. They are cute elementary age jokes.I will probably buy more of these as gifts.

The activities range from bead bins, colored coordination, clothing codes and decoders names just a few amazing math activities found in this jewel of a book. The American Girls bring math into a young girl's world, explaining it in a creative fun way that brings the joy in math to any child. My granddaughter was not a fan of math; still isn't UNLESS it's American Girl Math! She loves the brain teasers and sock stock. The book brings about the feel of going shopping, deciding on what you like and which is best and how to account for it all..This is again.. granddaughter approved!

Our 9 yr old isn't a bit fan of math, so this book definitely helps to make math fun, while also interesting. This was a christmas present, and she uses it several times a week. A great tool for those needing a little extra work in math.

My 10 year old daughter actually loved this! We homeschool and she was burning out on her math curriculum. I ordered this for her to use as a break for a bit. It's easy for her, but she used it on her own, without any prodding from me. It did what I hoped, which was help her not hate math.

My daughter is a big fan of American Girl. She reads the stories and now reads these helpful books. She uses the multiplication and division card all the time. There are lots of activities in this book including full directions on how to figure out the problem. The answers are listed in the back for easy reference too.

This book is amazing. My granddaughter isn't great in math so this book will hopefully be a great asset to her learning. She was very excited when I gave her this for Christmas.
