Color:Grey  |  Size:32 oz Permanent water-based pigment dye for all types of leather projects. It will dye evenly and uniformly. Easy cleanup. Outstanding coverage in usually just one coat. Available in many colors. Best applied using a sponge, brush or cloth. DO NOT USE A DAUBER. (The fine fibers of the dauber will absorb the pigment.) It is permanent, dries quick and is water resistant. Can be used as a spray. Water based formula is comparable to a house hold paint. There are three main steps to any leather dying project. 1. Preparing the Leather for Dying. 2. Applying the Dye. 3. Finishing with a Top Coat. Colour chart should be used as a guide only and that you should always test a swatch before attempting your finished product. 1. Preparing the Leather for Dying: to remove previous sealants and dirt you must first strip the leather using the deglazer in order for the dye to adhere properly. Use the deglazer with a clean cloth, to test if it is stripped completely go over with a damp sponger and any parts that are still shiney need to be stripped again. 2. Applying the Dye. Make sure the dye is shaken and mixed extremely well before starting. Then you must apply the dye with a sponge brush. You might need multiple coats, it is VERY important to make sure all the coats are completely dry before applying another. Test small areas first always. Standard color wheel mixing rules apply, you can mix this dye just like paint to make new colors. 3. Finish with a top coat. After steps 1 and 2 are done and dye is completely dry, apply top coat to seal the dye and make it waterproof. Top coats are available in matte flat, satin, and gloss. We are not responsible for the results of redyeing, it is very important to do your research and understand the art before attempting a project.
