My cat is probably a murderer
Well, this carrier would have been fine, but my cat is a murderer. Put her in this for maybe 20 min max and the teeny tiny hole she nibbled in the outer mesh suddenly became an epic escape route that she was able to squeeze her whole fluffy body through. The carrier also happens to be a little small for my 10 lbs cat. In its defense, I did take a swatch of the mesh to Petco and compared it to other $45-70 fabric carriers, and it was the exact same material. The carrier is made of quality materials, but it still gets 3 stars because it couldn't contain my floof-monster (who now has a plastic carrier with bars).

Cat escaped from carrier on plane, once by pushing on zippers and again by making a hole in the mesh.
I purchased this so my cat, who is about 10 pounds, could travel with me via air with the carrier placed under the seat in front me.I used this carrier for one round trip flight in October without incident.I used it again in January -- the cat escaped by separating the zippers and got all the way to first class from the waaaay back of the plane before a flight attendant caught her. On the return trip, she got out again, this time via a rip she'd made in the mesh, but I was able to catch her after she'd only gotten about five aisles away.I'll be purchasing a new carrier before I travel with her again.

Love it... very well made. Very easy to get my cat in and out of. the cat in the picture is a 22lb. cat, or was last time he was weighed.

Large cat, loves it, successful flight
I travelled by air across the country for a move and used this carrier for my extremely grouchy and big black cat (tall, 10 pounds). I was expecting the worst but surprisingly he loved this carrier! Another reviewer mentioned that cats feel safe in smaller, enclosed places so I think this worked better than a hard-side carrier. The zipper makes the carrier easy to unzip a little to reach in and the pocket on the outside is handy for carrying treats and vet certificates that are required when you fly. Also I thought this carrier provided enough privacy for the cat that he didn't get too much unwanted attention to upset him. It does need to be squished down on top to fit under the airplane seat (we flew Virgin America in an A319) but it doesn't interfere with the animal. My large cat was still able to turn fully around, sit up or lie down, and we included his favorite toy in the carrier with him.

Cats survive coast to coast travel in comfort.
We had a very traumatic trip scheduled last month......flying from the west coast to the east coast with two cats to our new home, with a layover in Atlanta. Each cat had their own Pet Travel carrier and first class under seat floor space. The trip wasn't 100% smooth, but the pet carriers were the best allowing "the girls" to rock and complain at will! They were light weight enough to prop on our laps in an effort to calm them. One cat liked her carrier so much that she continues to seek it out as her choice for nap location.

Successful cross-country flight
Bought this specifically to transport a 9 pound cat cross-country, and worked (nearly) flawless. The soft shape was able to squeeze under the coach seats on two Delta flights, including the smaller 717 aircraft.Although I experienced no "accidents" on my journey, it looks like it would be extremely easy to wipe clean. The only negative thing is that there is a piece of velcro on the bottom, which I presume is to keep it from sliding around. This is one of those things that sound better than it is, because in reality the velcro makes it near impossible to easily slide the carrier forward under the seat since it sticks to the carpet. If I ever have to fly with this again, I will cover it up with a piece of duct tape.

Fantastic Carrier
I took my 16.7 lb Maine Coon mix to the vet in this awesome looking carrier today. It was super easy to load him in the carrier and it was quite easy to carry the carrier with the handle and shoulder strap in place. Kitty seemed to be able to turn around in the carrier quite easily despite his husky size. He seemed comfy. I have only used it once, but it seems quite sturdy. I also like that your pet has multiple windows to see out of. All in all, this will suit my needs to transport kitty to the vet when needed.

Worked great on Southwest flight. Well made. Recommended
Used on a Southwest airlines trip from SLC to LAX. No problems checking in.The carrier is well made, and just big enough for my 8 week old Labrador puppy to fit, but small enough to satisfy the Southwest gate agents. I think this is the last flight the puppy will fit in the carrier. The floor of the carrier did not buckle with my 12 lb puppy inside, and I carried it through the airport using the shoulder strap.Either end of the carrier can be unzipped to open. I wish it allowed both ends to be unzipped, but that would complicate the zipper placement (my puppy had a hard time turning around). I had him enter through the solid panel side so he could see out the mesh side, but then when placed under the seat so he could see me I couldn't pet and reassure him. The carrier unzips completely, lays flat, and is easy to clean if necessary (one of us had an accident after landing and needed to clean the carrier).I spent several hours training my puppy to go inside the day before based on a You Tube video. I threw kibble repeatedly into the carrier and my puppy was entering eagerly in no time. The carrier has a small velcro patch on the bottom which is a blessing and a curse. It held the carrier in place while my 8 week old Labrador napped against it in the airport, but made it difficult to slide under the seat.Definitely recommended. A picture of the carrier under my seat is included.

The best cat carrier I've found
I've been looking for something like this for a long time and have tried a couple of other versions that I wasn't satisfied with. This, though, I love.I have four cats of different sizes and they all fit comfortably in this carrier, though of course not at the same time! It's sturdy, safe, and comfortable for them and for me to carry. They seem to feel secure in there as there's plenty of mesh "windows" for air but they can also remain hidden, which is good for times they're feeling nervous, like vet trips, travel, etc.I also like the elasticated pocket because it's useful for sticking vet's bills and prescriptions so I can keep my hands free. All in all, a top notch carrier!

MY CAT WON’T GO IN HERE
I’m not sure what breed of tiny compliant cats everyone else is putting in this carrier to give it 5* reviews but I have a regular to large sized cat who is mostly fluff and he will not even try to fit in here. I’m sure he wouldn’t be able to turn around. I thought it seemed small from the measurements and it is but was swayed by the positive reviews and low price. Cat hates it and unfortunately I can’t send it back due to putting food in it in a vain attempt to lure him inside, so now when I move house I will have to stuff him in forcibly and one of us is going to come off badly. Recommend not buying this if you have a larger/grumpier cat. On the plus side it looks nice and folds up small.

Flimsy ........small cat ripped mesh away and escaped.
This is a late review as this item was purchased for a kitten that died before she came to live with me. I adopted a Burmese kitten some time later.I was initially pleased with the carrier. ......looks funky and is fairly lightweight but please see the pics to see what my Burmese did to the carrier on the second use going to the vet.She was in the carrier on the rear seat of my car and suddenly jumped over the back of my seat onto my shoulder whilst I was driving .......could have been a serious accident had the car not been stationary at traffic lights.Jasmine who is a small cat of only 3 Kg had ripped the mesh panel away along the bottom and escaped from the carrier......thankfully she was in an enclosed space. If a small cat can rip this apart then it is totally unsuitable for purpose and feel this carrier was a complete waste of money a and will now go into the bin.Very disappointed and would not recommend........Not a secure carrier.

Quality and style!!
I have a large indoor cat who finds it stressful to go to the vet. Tired of using our sturdy & bulky pet carrier, I bought this instead. My cat just loved it. He snuggled up in there and sat quietly on the car seat. I used the shoulder strap to secure the carrier to the headrest. The whole vet experience was pleasant for me too as I found it easy to negotiate doors and a long narrow corridor at the vet's. The base is padded and it folds flat when not in use. I gave it 5 stars as it looks and feels as a good quality product. I highly recommend it.
