Best book I’ve ever had for learning the Japanese language quick and very well. It teaches you phrases and conversational Japanese instead of just words in a dictionary. There is even a funny video of Bill Murray owning this book and how it’s his most prized book ever. Real funny story and very accurate.

I owned an older version hard copy of this book. The update is an easier flow and updated phrases to keep it relevant in an ever changing "scene" as they call it in the book.I'd recommend this book to anyone interested in having better control of their conversational Japanese with the opposite (or same) sex.

I have used the Making Out In ... series before for Mandarin and Korean and purchased this one for a friend who was interested in Japanese culture. It was entertaining enough that my friend picked up many useful phrases pretty easily. This is not the best learning tool but it bridges the gap between a stodgy scripted material and something more entertaining and fun to learn.If you are not familiar with this series you should be warned that this does contain foul language.Buy this as a supplement to your Japanese studies!

I'm a native Japanese speaker. I got this one for my partner who doesn't speak Japanese at all. The title is deceiving. This book offers very natural real world Japanese not only for "making out" situation but for everyday life.

Its filled with insults to loving or ending relationship quotes. I love this book since it quite simple to read.

It is very helpfull and has a variety of words and phrases, very simple to understand and create more phrases if your creative.

Funny and useful

I bought the Arabic version a few years back and thought it was hilarious so when my daughter got stationed in Okinawa, I bought her this book. Her Japanese coworkers have perused and said it isn't that far off, although they highly recommended that, as a woman, some of the phrases are not recommended.
