The best thing I like Dewalt for is for the the ...
My wife bought this for me for christmas 2 years ago, because my 18 volt was getting old. that is 7 years old.The best thing I like Dewalt for is for the the way they attach the blade , the flip lever is easy to use and last, other brand saw I bought .wore the blade holding part out in a short period of time with nothing left to do but trash them. Both of my saws still work hard. pruninng and cutting limbs up. I also use the cheapper prunning blades to go in the ground and cut roots on unwanted trees and shrubs, witch makes the job easy. the dewalt is the best I have ever used.

Easy to handle and works great!
I am making great use of this item! The battery lasts a long time before I have to charge it. I can cut brush and medium size trees down for a couple hours before I have to take it inside to charge the battery. I'm hoping to get an extra battery later so I can just change them out. The grip makes it easier to hang onto and there is little vibration. This is important to me because I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and a very weak grip. My husband was worried that a chain saw would be too much for me to handle (he's probably correct). Even if I could hold onto a chain saw it would probably be too dangerous since my grip could slip. This has a button where you can lock it off when not in use and other safety features. I'm still able to help clear smaller brush in my garden and a field I'm preparing for grapevines without causing my husband worry. DeWalt products make up about 90 percent of our tools and garden implements in our shed for a reason. They are high quality and always working on improvements, especially for people like me who need easy handling. I'm hoping they come up with a chain saw that is able to cut down thicker trees but safe and light enough for people with Arthritis to use easily like this tool. The battery charges quickly and slips in and out very easily, which is also important because my fingers can barely press down buttons. I don't have to use my wrists very much during the cutting process if I purchase a good blade. The button on the side is also very easy to exchange blades.

Best saw ever!
This is the best reciprocating saw! It paid for itself in time and ease the day it arrived. It was delivered around 2:30pm and I charged the battery which took about an hour. I sawed 10 medium size bushes in my backyard in about an hour. This saw really works and no issue with the battery what so ever. I used a new blade (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HCVN48/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_1) which worked magically. This is the best purchase I have made in awhile.

Grade A, great power performance and weight.
I really love the performance of this saw. It is great for all my job sites when I do not have easy access to power. I already own several of the batteries so keeping it ready to go is not a problem. It does suck the batteries down but that is normal for any high amperage device. I would rather have a device that works hard and keeps a good charge with the weight of the item than having a super heavy version of this with a really heavy battery back. Having the ability to put the blade in two different directions was a major selling point for me and I find myself not even using this feature very much. Hopefully in the future I will start to use this more.I do not use this for major demolition but I use it for cutting conduit and other tasks that I need to do as an electrical contractor. Because of the cost of this item I would suggest using a corded version for any demo work because demo crews tend to tear up nice things. It also keeps you from having a stack of batteries on hand. On the bright side the 20 volt batteries are the best I have ever had and I have now moved all my tools to Dewalt's 20 volt lithium ion.

One of the best power tools a person can buy
After using someone else's to cut a plumbing pipe, saw wood & metal furniture apart, and cut a basketball hoop down I bought one of my own. So far I have only used it for cutting wood (building material & multi-inch diameter limbs) but in my opinion any DIY should have a reciprocating saw in their repertoire. I pair it with Milwaukee blades and it is cuts beautifully. The four positioned blade for flush cutting came in handy too. This saw has a nice battery life and I appreciate presence of the indicator light to let you know how much juice you have left. The case makes transportation a breeze. I do not think you can go wrong with this saw.

excellent tool
The first time I use this tool I used it for something it's not likely meant for. Wearing safety glasses, and heavy work gloves, I brought it outside to cut away vines and wild trees that were allowed to grow up against an eight foot chain link fence. It chewed through the trees with 4 to 5 inch diameter with ease and the vines like the proverbial hot butter, still allowing enough control not to slice the chain link that the trees were merging with. Granted, this is not recommend but it beat the heck out of the old fashion hand saw. The battery charge lasted about an hour which was not bad considering what I was cutting through. Great saw with a tremendous amount of power.

Great piece of equipment
I use this thing to cut steel for my welding projects- among other things. Powers right through. Battery life is more than adequate. Great piece of equipment. My only complaint is a minor one, but worth noting. This thing allows you to install the blade in 4 different positions. It's a great feature- allows you to cut in tight spaces where a reciprocating saw wouldn't otherwise fit. The down side is that the blade is a bit loose in the mount. Hasn't been a problem for me, but might be a problem for some.
