A beautiful, funny, and warm family movie
Like all great animated movies, this one is built on a solid plot with important lessons, cute humor, and lovable characters. As a bonus, there is an all-star cast, nice music, and wonderful animations.Unfortunately and not surprisingly, people that didn't receive some of the movie's important lessons growing up are brigading the reviews section flouting healthy norms of critical thinking and empathy. My only complaint is that sometimes the singing was too quiet and was overpowered by the instrumentals, making it hard to understand. My girlfriend and I agreed to turn the captions on early in the movie for this reason.

Good Clean Family Movie with a Message
This movie had a theme about being ready to question long held beliefs. If you note from other reviews, some folks find that idea highly offensive. If this describes you, then you would likely HATE the movie. For families that believe that truth is more important than how long an idea has been held, this movie could open out a good discussion regarding this topic. Its not overly simplistic either. If beliefs change...the sense of security changes, roles in society change. That all has to be weighed in when and how to change. The ethical question regarding is it acceptable to lie for supposedly good reasons...is raised as well. You will find other topics such as this in this film which could foster family discussion. There was a bit of slapstick in the film ie depicting a yeti falling as a comedy break. Im not a fan of slapstick comedy.Ordinarily I would have taken a star off for that. I think the attempt at putting actual content in G rated family film overrode that negative so I still rated the film 5 stars.I find the other reviews fascinating that state in effect that questioning beliefs is improper....even if it involves cartoon Yeti.Make some snacks and watch the film.I will put the film away for a bit and watch it again. To the writer(s), great job in trying to actually SAY something with your work.

Great message for kids and adults!
We really enjoyed this movie, funny and cute! My husband and I both enjoyed it and we are in our 30's. The best part about the movie was the message it has which is to not just believe everything you hear, to ask questions, and figure things out on your own as to what you believe in and trust to be true. Yes, this may mean ask questions about religion too, but isn't that important? You don't want your kids to follow blindly. If your beliefs are true/real then you should have no problem with your children asking questions. I read previous reviews on this movie and a lot of people said they didn't think the message was good for kids, but to me, that is ridiculous and they are bascially proving the point of the movie!! You should want your kids to be free thinkers and not sheep. Highly recomment this movie to anyone who can think for themselves.

Fun family movie. Good teachable moments.
It's definitely a cute, well done movie. My kids and I really enjoyed it.The main themes involve friendship, honesty, forgiveness, and being true to yourself. That being said, the negative reviews aren't wrong. The story is very much framed as "all dogma is wrong, and anyone that asks you not to question things is hiding the truth". The story is deeper, and provides a clear justification for the Yetis' false religion, but it still ends up having strong overall anti-religion vibes. If anything, I'd suggest that it provides an excellent teachable moment for "Even well intentioned lying often causes more trouble in the end."

Amazing movie
I’ve heard some crazy parental concerns online about this movie having a subliminal religious meaning. That’s ridiculous to me. My 3 year old loves this as do my husband and I. The actors are hilarious and cool, songs are super catchy, and overall, it’s just more interesting and funny than most animated movies because I have seen so many!! If you are on the fence, this is heart warming, great acting and singing, upbeat and super fun for the whole family.

GREAT FILM!!! Way too many critical parents out there...
I get why so many Christians are mad at this movie but I have to disagree with boycotting it. The way I see it... I want my kids asking questions! We are Christians and I am never once telling them to just accept what I say as the ultimate truth and if any questions come up just push it down. If any parent of any belief does that, it’s wrong. This is a touching movie and HILARIOUS. I was cracking up the whole time and the songs are stuck in my head worse than Let It Go.The thing I like to remember is we can make ANY movie fit our agenda or someone else’s agenda in some way. This movie is actually great compared to a lot of others. There aren’t inappropriate jokes laced through it, it shows compassion, shows not to be quick to judgment. Plus, did I mention how funny it is? It’s a great film and this Christian mom is thankful for the laughter it’s brought into our home!

Adorable movie!
This was a cute movie. Seemed to be very appropriate for my younger children. They enjoyed it very much, and have asked to watch it again many times! I loved it too. Will likely by the actually DVD at some point. A good message about being yourself and not just following along what everyone else tells you to.
