Professional Black Gold Soprano Straight Saxophone New

What good is any instrument that doesn't play?!?! I bought this thinking it was pretty decent given the reviews. It doesn't play the lower notes at all. It only plays G and above. Most stores won't fix these horns so I am stuck figuring it out for myself.

Packed nicely and in nice hard case..clean, not a fingerprint on it. Professional instrument it is advertised, isn't that wonderful, because the intermediate or even student name brand instruments begin in the price range of at least two thousand dollars. Is it too good to be true? Knowing the mouthpiece will not be good, I used my Vandoren, and a quality reed...results, does not play anything like an intermediate level, not even a beginner level...tone is badly off..lower register not too bad, but the upper, oh my, I hate to say. I don't like writing negative reviews, but I must say how it is. I rely heavily on reviews when putchasing products here on Amazon..where I have been a customer for many years and spend many thousands of dollars a year, because I trust if the product does not work it can be returned. as I must do with this one. Instruments are delicate things and quality sound is important...of course you won't know until you try it.. It would be wonderful to buy an instrument that cost one tenth the price of a real professional one, but that just is not going to happen.. I know what I must do now to find what I am looking for and what I must spend to achieve it...good luck, give it a go, you may luck out and find one as it seems some folks do...v

I've done plenty of research and I was pretty nervous about buying a soprano from Amazon. Too many 3.5 stars and broken horns. With that said, the horn is beautiful. It's intact, clean, well prepped and well made. The neck strap was not a pro strap and neither was the reed. My only major issue is the case. The horn doesn't sit well in the cavity. I'm using the cleaning rag (get new ones) and the gloves to take up the extra space. Maybe with the right reeds and mouthpiece it could be a good beginner horn.

It has a lot of resistance. The g# pinky key doesn't open enough and venting that key is a huge procedure. I haven't been able to use this for anything. Save your money on this one.
