Best and most potent pepper spray available.
Fox Labs pepper spray is my go-to defense option for cycling, walks and everyday carry. If you plan to carry it as I do and live in California as I do, your legal max carry size is the 2.5oz size per the following law:CSection 12403.7. It works on meth heads
Good to carry as a deterrent while walking the dog, shopping in the city with my wife, etc. Had to use it on a meth head who was threatening to kill my dog because he thought I was filming him even though I was just browsing reddit. I flipped it out and sprayed him full in the face while he was raving at me, also he was wearing a face mask with just the eyes showing. He didn't want to mess around after, just swore and walked away. I'm pretty sure it hurt...A LOT.

Old - manufactured over 6 months ago
The manufactured date showed it was 6 months 10 days old. I previously purchased this from a different supplier several years ago and that one was newly manufactured (only 2 months old). While the shelf life is 3 years, Fox recommends replacing every two years. So 26% of its useful life is already gone.

Not something you use every day.
I was asked to rate this item, but as the title says, 'you don't use this every day' so it is difficult to rate. I had one of these for a while and only used it once. The spray worked perfectly. I have found out that you don't leave them in your car(at least in cold winter) as they do not work well after getting very cold. That being said, I like the flip cap on this one(my other one did not have this feature) as it protects the trigger and is easy to flip open with your thumb(which I use to fire the spray). At 5.3 million Scoville heat units, I should think this will interrupt an attacker(either animal or human) pretty quickly and give a person the chance to facilitate an escape before the attacker can recover. For personal protection short of deadly force, I should think that someone could not go wrong by having one of this little babies handy should the need arise.

I didn't like it. When I tried to pull off the ...
I have no doubt this product would work as intended. Thankfully, I have never had the unfortunate experience of needing to use it, but having seen videos of Fox 5.3 in action on YouTube, I'm sure it would stop just about anyone. My issue with this product is not so much with the contents of the container, but with the label. My label came with an ugly white sticker on top of it. Not a big deal, but cosmetically, I didn't like it. When I tried to pull off the white sticker, it had such strong adhesive that it took the entire gold label off with it. I ended up having to remove everything, and now my canister is just a flat black. Not a huge deal, and I'm sure the product is fine, but I'm a little disappointed that my golden label is gone.

Saw a Demo
I bought this for my wife and daughter, after seeing a demo of this stuff. The police put one on. They sprayed this 6'2, 235 fellow cop, (Volunteer?) with this stuff, and he dropped, screaming like a 2 year old, who didn't get her cake!Impressed, my girls are now armed with this stuff. It shoots out in a stream, so you won't get it in your eyes, unless your in a really strong wind. Even with that, the stuff touches the bad guy, and he goes down! I'd run, if someone pointed it at me!

Second Purchase
Last year I ordered a container of the cone spray made by Fox Labs. I only used it once when these huge aggressive male cats were attacking my poor tiny female cat on my front porch. I heard the attack going on and grabbed the cone spray and ran out the door. I sprayed the cats with it and I'm not sure if they were hit but they bolted in the other direction and unfortunately I was effected by blow back from the wind. I couldn't stop coughing and sneezing, my eyes kept watering and my nose kept pouring snot. I also had a tight feeling in my chest and my throat kept itching. This went on for 15 minutes. I decided to order this stream spray by Fox Labs and I gave the cone spray to my mother who is 52 years old and is a heart patient. My mother was in an unfortunate incident at a gas station where she was nearly car jacked and robbed so I told her to keep the cone spray in her purse at all times. I showed her how to hold it and how to spray it in case she ever needed to use it. I feel safe with any sprays by Fox Labs and I feel better knowing my precious mother is protected too.
