I finally needed to replace my Spenco gloves from long ago. The Spenco gloves were all genuine kid leather on the front; all hand-crocheted 100% cotton yarn on the back; and used surgical orthopedic gel for padding. They had worn like iron. Spenco has gone out of business. I couldn't find any replacement gloves of the same high quality, and didn't want to spend 40 or 50 USD on a lower grade product just to get a fashionable logo. So, I took the opposite approach and looked for low cost, essentially disposable gloves.I paid 11.37 USD for these, and they are an excellent value. I own the 05-black, which has a some mesh fabric on the back of the index finger. My recommendation is to avoid the 06-black except in colder climates because the back is entirely Spandex. In retrospect, I probably should have ordered the 07-black, which appears to use more mesh on the back than mine.The loops for removal are really nice to have. That is the only aspect of these gloves that is superior to the old Spenco design.My only reservation is with the amount and placement of the padding. There is a reasonable amount of padding over the base of the fingers and at the base of the thumb. There is very little padding over the center of the palm. This is not a problem for me even on 40+ mile rides because I use a touring hybrid with a suspension fork. But it might be an issue for a road bike with a solid fork.My palm measurement was exactly nine inches. That put me on the cusp between the large and XL sizes. I ordered the large and it fits very well, and a bit snug as expected.I don't think these gloves will hold up for more than a year, or two years tops. A hem at the end of one finger is beginning to unravel after only about 150 miles.

Received today and used them for a 5 mile short ride, very comfortable, the padding is very well and absorb the vibration very well, the mesh on the back helps ventilation. Overall a good pair of quality gloves, I may also try this at gym next week.

These are great cycling gloves. I live in Florida where warm and humid is the rule and my gloves get dripping wet from perspiration. I had trouble finding gloves that did not bleed dye and stain my palms until I stumbled on these. The leather on these gloves is not dyed so it does not stain my hands. The little loops for removing the gloves are firmly attached and work well, better than little cups over the knuckles. The material on the back of the hand is very light weight and breathes nicely. I get a kick out of the little patch of nose dabber on the back of the thumb and the minimalist reflective strip. They have very good padding and have proven to be durable. Fit is as expected, medium Gyro is medium for these. The Velcro strap is very lightweight but adequate. When I need cycling gloves again, I will purchase these.

I am new to the world of cycling and purchased these for a 200-mi road bike race. I didn't wear them for the first leg of a race and could DEFINITELY feel a positive difference after wearing the gloves mid-way through. I think these are a great price for the money for basic cycling gloves BUT I would have given 5 stars if they had better gel padding. Overall, I think these are worth the purchase for long bike rides :) Thanks!I was debating between the full-length or partial-length fingers & am glad I chose the partial-length fingers as it better enables fine-motor movements (e.g. iPhone use) while wearing. Great little gloves for the price. I've never owned any bike gloves before, because I cannot wrap my head around paying $35 for some spandex and a chamois palm. These do the trick for much less.I have some confidence they would save skin in a fall. They probably wouldn't be much good after, but they'd save you the rashed palms. The padding is nice to have. The grab loops (for removing the gloves) are a fantastic idea.

NOTE: This review is being written immediately after purchase so I can't yet vouch for how they will stand up to wear-and-tear over time, but I only plan on wearing them while hiking with trekking poles so I expect they will do fine.Pros:- The material 'feels' good on the hand- Velcro straps and loops on the fingers make for quick on/off[Edited part of review is below]- Probably sized perfectlyCons:- None (Other than Amazon sending the wrong size!)I originally said they were too small but just now when I pulled the tag out of the palm, I found I was sent MEDIUMS, not the LARGE I ordered...Thanks Amazon, but this pair is being returned.

These gloves are good value for the price. The sizing chart is quite accurate. There is ample padding in just the right areas. The small straps on the finger tips are useful in taking off the gloves. Nice design, too.

I don't care for bulky gel padded gloves that clump up and make contact with the bars less secure but this is a very soft and conforming light weight glove,(07-bk XX-Lg) perfect for road racing and stationary exercise. I ride alot and sweat alot and the little loops do make it easier to pull wet, sticky gloves off. The terry cloth on the thumb is good for wiping sweat. The durability is dependant on use but I am more than satisfied. Will get more as needed.
