ToughTech Duo QR Handheld RAID Storage for Mac and PC

The RAID works great. Throw in a couple of SSDs and this thing screams. Can hardly tell the difference between this and the system drive. They are durable, but with weak points. Unfortunately my first one, while surviving a couple short drops, the third time it actually fell right onto where the power cord goes into the device and smashed the connector so I can no longer plug it in. Will try to get it fixed, but, in the mean time I picked up a second because I cannot live without this drive. If you don't have a 3 year old, then maybe you will have less worries about drops...I also love the portability of this drive, small enough to carry around so I can take all my working files with me wherever I go without having to clog up my laptop hard drive. Then move to an archive drive when finished. This drive didn't just improve my workflow, it defined it.

Junk. Bought in November, 2015, with two Seagate SSHDD's. By a month later the whole thing was a bust. One night it self-ejected for no apparent reason. There was no surge or power issue. When I rebooted it it spent the next two weeks "detecting disks." I haven't a clue what happened. But it's going back and I won't buy a product from this company again.

What is there to say... It's tiny, COMPACT (like a brick compact), easy to use, and easy to store. My only aggravation (and this is slight) is that it takes an external power source. Other than that I have no complaints at all. BTW all cords are included.

Product simply did not work. Used Seagate SSHD 1TB drives and could only get a reboot message. I give this zero stars if I could. I am very disappointed. Tried it on my Windows 8.1 Laptop.

Terrible product. Save yourself the data loss and do not purchase this unit. There is not a good cooling system, it takes forever (if it even works) to transfer data and rebuild, easily corrupts, and freezes in transfers. Definitely a huge disappointment. I tried two different units, thinking that the first may just have been a manufacturing error. Both corrupted all of my drives and failed to work efficiently and dependably.

As a professional photographer who is always on the road I have found that the ToughTech Duo is the best way to back up my images. I have had this unit for a couple of years now and it is built extremely well and operates perfectly on the road or on my desk. I can shoot all day and make two copies of my work and ship one home and carry the other with me to ensure what I have shot is safe.I use the ToughTech Duo almost on a weekly basis and it has never failed me.
