Spinner NXT Manufactured by Star Trac - Commercial Spin Bike with Four Spinning DVDs

I bought the Spinner NXT after trying it out at the best health club in town. I had been looking for an exercise bike for years, but hesitated to buy one based on customer reviews alone. After riding this bike in a spinning class, I was impressed with the bike's high quality, and decided I would get more use out of it at home than trying to drive out to the club after the first twelve hours of work every day. You know the quality is good because it is used many times a week (at the club) by any number of people of all sizes. The bike is infinitely adjustable, extremely sturdy, and offers a quiet, smooth ride. The bike is easy to move around, despite weighing 148 pounds, with an easy tilt and roll on it's front wheels, which provide a very stable and smooth move. The weight is perfectly balanced so anyone could move it, regardless of size or strength. The bike is very easy to put together, requiring minimal effort, though a friend would be helpful for holding to attach the feet. A metric socket set and adjustable torque wrench are preferred, but not required, for feet installation. The handlebars have a spot for two water bottles, which is nice and often necessary for long or challenging workouts. The pedals have cages for regular shoes on one side, and two types of quick release connectors on the bottom, which is handy if you already own a mountain or road bike using one of these systems. The four dvds that come with the bike are nice, and a good way to run a few different routines as if in a spinning class. The clamshell my dvds came in was crushed, and the dvds had fallen out, though they appear to be in working condition. One caveat for this bike is it's packaging. Make sure to be around and check the condition of the package before signing for it. My first bike was signed for by someone else on my behalf, which was a terrible mistake beacuse the packaging looked as it if came right out of the garbage it was so destroyed. Even the multiple rolls of tape affixed to the box could not save it, and I would never accept a package in anywhere near this condition. I used the 'Call Me Now' feature of Amazon's customer service, which is awesome and unlike any service I have ever seen on any other business, and they quickly agreed to send me a new bike and come get the damaged one. I could not be happier with the Amazon support. The new bike they shipped out at two day speed beacuse of my troubles, and came in about as good of shape as could be expected of such a heavy and unweildly package. I ordered this bike from Amazon over the manufacturer because I had read about shipping/condition troubles from the manufacturer, and I trust Amazon to do the right thing beacuse I have been a very long time customer, and I find their service exceptional. Don't hesitate to buy this bike! The quality is first rate, and I expect to be using mine for decades.

My wife dropped her gym membership when they started cutting back on the classes offered at the hours she used to go. The one thing she missed the most was the spinning classes. This bike is actually a model above what they used at her old gym and she loves it.Her only negative comment is that the spinning sessions offered on the included DVD set uses lame music so she watches them while listening to her own music playlist on her iPod.

Love it! Saves me about 30 min./day not driving back and forth from the gym. Plus I can fit this like a TT bike and train better for my events while working out in the off season. Quality bike!

Was disappointed that it didn't have a speedometer on it for that price..had to spend extra and didn't know it..bummer

I love my bike. I use it for physical therapy on my knee. It is sturdy, easy to set up, very easy to move. The DVDs are fun. I use this bike at the gym and knew it would be quality.

Defective Spinner NXT exercise bike. Biking is my hobby. I bike regularly, practically every day. I could no longer tolerate the gym noise, thus, I bought spinner NXT commercial bike (new) for comfort, convenience, professional ride and noise free. Alas!, this is the noisiest bike I ever purchased - two noises, one from the chain rotation and the other rediculusly loud noise form the wheel!!!!!!. This bike is not even 24hrs old!. Believe this, even with a 3M X5A noise reduction rating of 31 decibels earmuff, the bike is still annoyingly loud. I contacted the company immediately, no feedback yet, let's talk about customer service!

The Spinner should be easier to maintain mechanically. Adjusting the chain, brakes & the flywheel are not easy tasks. You need to be mechanically inclined. Also, the front/rear footpads are not wide enough. I worry about loosing my balance & have the bike tip sideways with me. The wheels attached to the front footpads are too small in both circumference & width. Moving the bike, especially if you have carpet on the floor, is challenging. Final note: I have wide shoulders. Gripping the bike's narrow-width handle bars is uncomfortable. Had to buy a 3' long dowel, which I mounted horizontally across the handle bars, in order to ride comfortably.
