Jamo S 83 Center Channel Speaker (Black)

I've had this speaker for 24 hours, so it's not even broken in yet, but right from the start the dialog in movies was crisp and articulate, and the bass was fast and tight. I can only assume everything will sound even better once there's a hundred hours or so on this speaker. At $79 the sound quality is stunning, on par with speakers that cost significantly more.I love the look of this speaker. The finish is lovely and the shape is more eye-catching than simply being yet another rectangular block.My only qualm, and it's a minor one, is the little "feet" at the front of the speaker. They look great and do what they need to do but I feel like Jamo missed a golden opportunity here to make these feet height adjustable. The shelf I have to put this on is a little low so if the speaker has to have feet anyway it would've been awesome if you could set the height to angle the speaker a bit. But this isn't a big deal; the majority of people will probably want their speaker to sit flat anyway.So yeah, for the money the speaker has great build quality, looks, and most importantly SOUND!

Delivered faster than expected, and packing condition was good. Sound is better than more expensive ones I had. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sound produced by this speaker. The base sound is very good, the mid and high range is excellent. Recommend it to anyone who needs speaker.

Purchased this after my S 81 center channel blew. Always found that dialogue was a bit muffled and hard to hear with the S 81 that I had in my living room. Didnt want to pay a bunch of money to upgrade, but also didnt want to get an ugly center channel speaker. So when I needed a new center channel, I decided on this thinking it would just be the same as the other. This speaker is actually a big improvement. I was able to clearly hear dialogue and it seams to be a much better match to the s 803s than the S 81 was. Wish I made this upgrade earlier

For the price this a 4.5 star speaker, but its not a 5 and Amazon doesn't offer fractional ratings.BE SURE TO READ THE DIMENSIONS BEFORE PURCHASING. THIS THING IS HUGE!!!Had no idea this would be bigger than a bookshelf speaker, but then again I stupidly didn't even check the dimensions. Can't knock them for that...Sound is good, not excellent...but for the price, yeah it's a major steal!Build quality is absurd and it looks really really good. Just not sure why it's shaped with high sloping angle facing forward.

Usually this is where I'd leave a brutal review bashing a product but I have to admit I'm very impressed. I almost dropped a deuce in my pants when I received the s83 in the mail. You could fit 2 cocker spaniels in the box it came in. I assumed it was mostly packing paper or bubble wrap. It wasnt. This things pretty big. I love that they incorporated 2 5 1/4" woofers into the cabinet with that amazing jamo dome tweater. I thought to myself this thing was gonna be overpowering loud given its size but it's actually perfect and well balanced. It blends right in with the rest of my system perfectly.
