Sharp UX-B750 Inkjet Fax

I've used this machine basically for faxing items out. I didn't need anything too fancy or too complicated. This unit actually has more involved functions that I don't need but I purchased it cause the price was right. So far so good, setup was simple, it is extremely lightweight (I kind of worried about this as my past fax was at least 3times heavier). Uses standard copier paper (thank goodness), fax is very quiet and scans pages quickly. It also has a hand-set if you need to make a regular phone call from it. I haven't received incoming faxes on it yet but if a problem arises, I will be sure to post additional feedback.FOLLOW-UP - Still working fine as of May 9, 2013

The FAX was put in a box and the packaging material was thrown in on top..The hand set was destroyed and another piece had a minor crack that would not effect performanceI HAVE TO THINK THAT WHAT I RECEIVED WAS THE RESULT OF A LAZY OR DISGRUNTLED WORKER. I DON'T BELIEVE THAT IT SHOULD INFLUENCE YOUR BUYING DECISION. They did provide a replacement handset that did not fix the problem. I made the purchase because i needed a FAX. Their customer service was excellentBased upon the condition I should have returned it immediately.

I've tried different weight paper and it still jamms frequently.! Manual says you can put up to 20 sheets in at a time (mostly because of the memory) however, I have found that I can only put between 6 and 10 sheets in at a time for better flow. Although, it still jamms periodically. Very annoying!

The fax is easy enough to use. But I don;t get a print out, when i send a fax. Then when I send a fax I get in the window, the number of pages I sent and also the number of pages I sent before. Other than that the fax is good.

I was quite impressed with the ease of set up! This came as a refurb, and I was a bit concerned about finding replacement cartridges and setting up. The instruction manual was included, it was a breeze to set up and no problem finding replacement cartridges! This will save the church quite a bit over the HP we were using before in ink costs alone! The machine is quiet, doesn't cause that horrible "fax noise" when we get a call on the same line (our fax and second phone line are shared). Overall we are very satisfied with our purchase.

It should be made clear by Amazon that the unit does not include all supplies needed to operate and that additional purchases are necessary...Had I known in advance that I would have had to spend additional funds, I would have just purchased a 1st quality non-refurbished unit which in both the short and long run would have coat me much less, and it would have included all supplies needed to operate out of the box.

According to page 3 of the user manual, you may have trouble with this machine if you have call waiting and/or call forwarding on your phone. You may also have trouble if you use a phone card to send faxes long distance.We found that by discontinuing the use of our phone card and adding long distance directly to our phone service we were able to get the fax to work properly. We didn't have any problems by having call waiting or call forwarding as features on our phone.Please note that if the machine displays the error message "Document Jammed", it can either mean that a piece of paper is jammed in the machine or communication with the receiving fax is not successful (possibly caused by one of the above conditions - see user manual page 65).

I wanted to get a relatively inexpensive inkjet fax machine (Sharp UX-B750). Well this one is really cheaply made. It makes horrible copies. It prints your incoming faxes slowly and the print quality is terrible. You have to hit start to receive anything and you have to lift the receiver to send anything. If I had to use it all the time instead of just every now and then, I would throw it out the door!!
