PowerBear Samsung Galaxy S5 External Battery Case - Blue (Up to 125% More Power)

I bought this on 8/12/14, and it broke on 9/30/14. Here is what I found out:As far as being streamlined and slim, it truly is. By far one of the most streamlined extended battery packs I have found. The charge on the extended battery pack worked very well for flights as I was able to watch a couple movies and play games while still having about 30-40% charge left after my flight. The charging process would warm up the unit, but it was no more or no less than many other external charging power packs.Around 9/20/14, I started having charging problems. It seemed as the charging plug port on the case was loosening up and I would have to plug in the phone and make sure there was no tension on the cable as that would break the connection and would not take a charge. I also noticed that there were cracks appearing on one of the corners that held the case to the phone. I have never dropped my phone.Around 9/25/14 things went downhill fast. The case developed cracks and chips of plastic missing on all four of the corners of the case. It seemed as the case was no longer fitting tight to the phone. The case would no longer charge the phone when connected, nor would pressing the charge button charge the phone, but the case itself would charge up. After taking the case off to see what was happening to the internal connection, the cracks of course got worse, but I cleaned the charging connection and put it back together and it seemed to work again.On 9/30/14 The cracks on the corners were very deep and the case would still receive a charge for itself, but would not charge the phone at all. If I pressed the back of the case into the phone, it would then charge the phone, but the moment I released it, it would stop charging the phone. I took the case off again, and here is what I found out:I removed the interior heat shield from the case exposing the battery and the circut. I found that the battery for the case had another metallic shield surrounding it. This shield/bag had puffed up with air and was acting like pillow pack that was pushing against the phones battery when attached to the phone. My guess is that over time, the force of this pillow pack pushing away from the phone caused the four corners of the case to crack and would break the connection between the case and phone, and not allowing the phone to charge, but the still allowing the case to charge. I cut a slit into the metallic shield surrounding the battery to let the air out, put the case back on the phone, and the case was able to charge the phone again. The only problem is, while all four of the corners have deep cracks, it does not hold the case to the phone tight enough to ensure a solid connection, so charging is spotty.This would be a good charging case if the manufacturer fixes the heat shield puffing problem. The reason for the 2 stars is that this case cost me 33$ and last me 47 days (of course its past the 30 day return period), which is seventy cents a day and in the end, I had to figure out how to solve their problem.All and all, this charger has potential and worked well when it worked. My suggestion is, if you do buy this, take the time to remove the battery separation heat shield, and CAREFULLY slice the heat shield surrounding the cases battery to release the trapped air, and then reassemble.

didn't charge as well as I would thought it would but it still takes my phone up to a 70% if you're not playing with your phone when the powerbear is attached!

It extends your battery looks nice . Very slim. Built strong . protects the screen too
