GildenGents Expansion Extra Long 20-24mm Wide Stainless Steel Watch Band 552W

It's quite long and will need to be shortened. If you have an are you know has a lot of old retired folks you can have a jeweler there that actually knows about watchbands shorten it for you. Otherwise I was able to do it myself after watching a few youtube instructional videos on how to do it. Basically you bend the little tabs up on the side and yank one of the metal staples holding the band together. once those staples are removed the whole band can then separate and you can do the same down the band to shorten it at much as you please. If you are careful you can even keep the extra links you removed as spares for when you inevitably break it on something.About the band it's self:paint is soft but in a good way, hard paint flakes away, this paint flexes with the metal and works really well. the band will not quite fit a 20mm band, unless you remove the spring guides on the ends. I was able to fit this perfectly to my samsung gear 4 watch which is a 44mm watch with a 20mm band size which is probably closer to 19mm. Samsung didn't really follow standard sizing when designing their watches. But I was able to make this watch band fit and I think it looks pretty good too.

I have a large wrist. It measures close to 9 in so watch bands are impossible. So I gave this one a try on my Samsung smartwatch and I love it. This is my second one. They last about a year before all the paint peels off but I'm very active. It wasn't very hard to install and i did not have to remove any links. So if you have a 9 inch wrist this should fit you perfect with a watch similar to mine. Also it doesn't pull any hair out, well maybe once in awhile.

OK, I like this band a lot...now.You have few options when it comes to adjusting the size. One involves your gaining enough weight to make adjustment unnecessary. Another would be a jeweller which I assume would result in a bill larger than the cost of the band. The third involves following the video and doing it yourself.Should you decide to do it yourself you will need a well lit work area that allows three or four hours of uninterrupted time, at least eight feet of clear space to help locate extremely small parts that will launch themselves in all directions except the one you expect (a large magnet would be helpful also). A magnifying glass, several small screwdrivers, a padded vise and a set of calipers will be helpful, also a Valium, scotch or weed depending on personal choice.The video loses a lot in translation. Do not try and follow it step by step, rather watch ten seconds at a time, pause, figure out how it relates to what's in your hand then repeat seven times before the step becomes somewhat clear (muting the sound may help also).If done correctly, and it hasn't hit the trash yet, you will have a great looking and well fitting watch band and those small scratches will never be noticed.

Nice band. I have to get it sized to my arm. It costs an extra $10; So unless you know the exact size you need, plan on taking it to a jeweler.

Update: After a few weeks the black coating has started flaking off. I find paint flakes everywhere, and the band looks awful.---The band is comfortable and attractive. It feels reasonably durable.But putting it in is a huge pain, because you have to manage four separate spring-loaded components at once (the two ends of the pin, and the two shrinky things that make the band fit different watch sizes). The band does not accommodate quick-release pins.I adjusted the band's length, which was also immensely frustrating. It must have taken me an hour, and I lost several of the U-pins while doing it.

I was very disappointed with this item due to the fact that the paint on it does not stay on it for very long after you start to use the strap. It started to look horrible very soon to the point that I had to manually remove the rest of the paint for it to look somewhat reasonable. I now have a white strap instead of black, the one that I thought I was buying! I give two stars because I can’t still use it.

Recommend you buy a longer one than you think you will need as it's easier to remove links than add ones you don't have! Frankly it's a great expansion band. I can tell the quality is a tiny bit less than the other main competition. But I am not afraid it's going to break or anything. Well worth the money.

I've bought other stretch bands of the same type, but they were very light weight and didn't last too long. But with this band, you can feel the quality. I had to remove some links (checked on youtube first) and you can see how well its put together. Very solid and I have no fear of the links breaking as they did on my other bands. And it looks great also. I will only buy these bands from now on....well worth the money.

Simple but does the job really well. Looks and feels high quality.

I got this to match my gunmetal Timex Expedition Solar watch (I hate leather straps!! lol). Match is pretty close in tint, and this will make this watch easier to take on and off when necessary, I am getting this put on the watch later today, and will shoot a photo on the review of the solar watch, coming soon. :)Quality is very nice, and since I do not have a tool currently to adjust the strap myself, I want it to fit well, and will be taking to a jeweller (watch repair/service location at the Bay in my city). They do great work and it should only take 10 minutes or so. Stay tuned!In the meantime, I recommend this strap as it is long enough to fit almost everyone. It is classy and well made. Thanks!
