Burly Knife!
Well this knife exceeded expectations. Wasn't quite sure what to expect; between the price, size, machining details and very unique fasteners.....but it seems to be of good quality. Better than most if not all the equivalent "American" brands like Kershaw, Gerber, CRKT, Buck, etc. The knife is built like a tank, however it performs more like a racing truck. The blade is huge, near razor sharp, and seemingly thick, but the fancy machining lightens it up noticeably. The handles are done nicely and the sand color looks great with the darkened fasteners. Speaking of fasteners...these are obviously, unique and no tool was provided w/knife. But, everything is very solidly put together with no wiggle or play or any other type of sloppiness. The blade locks up solid, tight, and strong. It stays closed well and the function is excellent. It operates on a ball bearing pivot and the action is silky smooth making the blade capable of flicking open easily and instantly. To be honest, as long as the fasteners don't come loose, this knife is an incredible value and clearly competitive against knives that cost ......wait for it......5 times the price! It just looks effing awesome, and the knife itself is a nexus of creative design, machining, quality and price point.

Excellent knife for the price.
So initially after opening the package I was very sightly disappointed. There was some side to side wiggle. The knife did not come with the tool for taking it apart. I was fortunate to have another Eafengrow knife that did come with the disassembly tool. This tool fit the female side of the pivot and the handle screws. It does not fit the pocket clip screws or the male side of the pivot. It was quite difficult to remove the pivot as it isn't indexed and spins freely. However I was able to get it apart. After I took the knife apart and cleaned it I was able to get it centered, and locked up very good with no wiggle. I have disassembled it a few times now and it goes together very smooth and is able to be centered with little effort. The G10 scale I would rate a 7/10. They are not SUPER high quality, but honestly far better then I expected on a $30 knife. The blade grind is even, and came very sharp. The pocket clip is shiny, and i wish it was stone washed to match the hardware better. I am skeptical of this being on par with the D2 we see in the larger manufacturers. There is some evidence this is more along the lines of 8CR13MOV, but I honestly can't be sure. Ill follow up this review after a few weeks. This is my forth Eaefengrow knife and I am VERY pleased with the value. I would recommend this as long as you keep your expectations realistic.

Got what I paid for, which isn't bad. However...
This knife is a clone of a Microtech Socom, which I knew going in. I just liked the design and at $30 with decent reviews for many of their other knives, I felt it'd be worth giving a shot. All in all the knife is pretty good, with nicely contoured and comfortable G10 handles, good balance, a solid pocket clip, and nice construction overall. I have a few complaints, though. Firstly, there is just the slightest amount of forward and side to side blade play. I'm not sure why there is forward blade play, as I've tested the lock (by smacking the spine on a roll of tape) and it hasn't failed. I could fix it possibly by tightening the pivot screws, but that brings me to my second point: This knife uses the same proprietary hardware as the authentic Microtech knives, so it requires a specific tool. I've seen several reviews on youtube of Eafengrow's knives and they all received the tool with their purchase. I did not receive one, however, and have no way of tightening or loosening the screws on this knife. Lastly, the blade is a bit heavy and the detent ball is not quite strong enough to hold it in if shaken with enough force when the blade is closed. It won't swing open immediately, but it's possible. Overall, I'm not too disappointed with my purchase, but there are things Eafengrow needs to address if they really want this knife to be stellar.

Worth the price.
For the money, the knife is worth it. Rock solid lock up, good detent in closed position, and mine was centered perfect right out of the box. G10 handles with nested liners. Blue spacer on the spin is a dark blue color. Darker than what I was expecting. Screw heads do rest above handle but don't bother me. Handle is fairly smooth, and the blade needed a couple of minutes on a leather strop to get it to a razors edge. Not sure its D2 steel...but seems to sharpen like other D2 steel I have. No way of really telling. Lighter in weight than what I was expecting. Blade is very good size and love the design. All the edges and angles cuts into the blade are very crisp, borderline sharp.

A great well built and unique knife.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Well; it’s a mean looking knife, I can’t argue that. I’m not an expert by any means, but I’ll do my best to give my take on this folder. When open it had zero play in the bladeCompared to other liner locks; the one on this knife seemed a little thin, but more than acceptable for meThe liner lock barley caught the blade, but catched enough to work as intended. I’m sure it’ll catch more with use. I’m guessing the company manufactured it this way to compensate for future wear; but idk, just a guess? It was hair popping sharp out of the box.My brother who is well versed in knives and steel compositions said“Well...without having a chance to sharpen it; if I only go by the look and feel of it’s grind and edge, I think it could be real D2 steelOverall it’s a great value and would recommend it.So all in all I’m completely satisfied with my purchase.
