So Far So Good 10 minute limit then cool
I have learned to pay attention to customer reviews - this product has some bad ones . First the auto off preset is fabulous and why I took a chance . I figured it would cost $12 to send back or more and since all users said the 12 volt part worked fine after the AC fuse blew I figured paying $36 for one like new out of the warehouse would be my best bet . If my AC fuse blows then for $24 I have a 12 volt only compressor and since it only draws 6 amps I can use my car jump pack .Now my two cents these are made for topping off tires if you fill one that is flat you need to let it cool off . All these compressors say do not run more then 10 minutes . I took all my tires on my van 15 inch from 40 pounds to 50 and did one tire at a time and each one was less then 2 minutes infact close to one and then I let it cool for a couple minutes and moved it to the next . Was done in about 12 minutes and it didn't get hot . If you leave the 12 volt power cord wound up like it comes it is no trouble at all to put back in the machine . It does have ahandle it just doesn't look like one it is the tab on the top door . You grip it with 2 fingers there where it sticks out . I love this unit . I leave it next to my electric bike . Guage was spot on . I am very pleased . I have a quality viar pump which I highly recommend but on AC this doesgreat . I imagine 12 volt is slower . But I believe this is much faster then the average $25 cheapo and that auto off feature and back lit gaugeisn't on the cheapos . Love that it has nozzles for footballs and air matresses too . I am very pleased . I hated firing up my large compressoror hooking up to a car socket to fill bike , lawn equipment and even the car tires this is so nice especially the low draw . My viar can soak upUpdate . Well it blew that ac fusible link that one can't replace . Still it is a good value and it works with a 100 ft ext cord . This winter CPO had a sale on a 40v max battery set up that is also a light duty half gallon compressor that can run very light air tools like a staple gun or brad nailer . Your not going to frame with it . I like the blow gun because I have stuff in sheds all the time where I need one . I like to blow out the 4 stroke Merc boat motor I have with one in the water pump inlet too which is never by a outlet . I like to be able to fill my tires at a campground that has no power and it can be a pain starting a generator or taking a chance using a converter off the battery . So I popped on the Greenworks 40 v half gallon air compressor . Very expensive but very good . With a extra 4 amp battery which with the 2 amp that comes with it will run the thing for a hour or more . If $250 doesn't scare you you can plug a tire on the side of the road and fill it with that baby . I bet a few of them . So since that is something I might do , am disabled , and travel I bought one it comes with a 25 foot house , blow gun , Needle valve , plumbers tape for the 1/4 inch air fittings , air chuck and 2 amp battery . I paid $172 for that and $72 for a extra rebuilt 4 amp battery . According to the manual they should run it a hour and 30 minutes but you should cool it every 15 . It ways 13 . 5 pounds . Originally when this came out in 2014 it was $400 for what I received for under $250 from CPO they list on here but I had a coupon for their site direct . I would check that out especially if your considering a Viar over this Black and Decker which with its limitations is a great value . The greenworks does fill up a tire twice as fast this takes about 5-6 minutes to fill top a tire off with say 15 pounds of air . My tire size is 235 75 15 . Good luck20 amps . At 6 most cars can handle this and I prefer to never use my car but a jump pack can usually handle at least 8 amps draw .This model is recommended to be used on AC in your shop and dc in your car on a trip it is very handy and for the average family the best choice for the $$$ I believe . Hope to keep it cool , never run it too long to heat it up and have years of use from both ac and dc sides .Update at year 3 the AC gave out like they usually do . I will read up it seems like a fuse or fuseable link . It still works on 12 volt . I used it that way last night from my clore jump pack and then charged it up . Don't like having to carry it around though with the jump pack its a old one that weighs 45 pounds and I have a bad spine and neck injury . Otherwise they are great sadly they have problems with the AC in . I really like it in fact I have a 12 votl ac to dc converter from the old days when I used to use my car sterio in the house too on a slide mount so I will put that with it until I figure out if I can just repair it .

Works GREAT for inflating Car tires.. Well worth the price. WORKS for years. DC cord reaches all 4 tires.
Works GREAT for me. I like the automatic shut off also. Just dial the pressure you need and the pump works GREAT to inflate the car tires and shuts off also at the pressure you set it at not lower than or higher than. It plugs into the cigarette lighter socket and has a very long cord. Of course you should have the care engine running when using this device. I Use it when the low tire pressure warning comes on. I top off all 4 tires as long as I'm using the pump anyway. This can be done WHERE you need it just pull over the car and park then use the compressor to inflate the tire. This is really made for use from your vehicles DC current, works best that way.. Works GREAT for pumping up tires in a short time then you are back on the road... I see some low reviews here but once I've read them I see people using this product not as intended.. This is not to replace a full standing air compressor from Sears (kind used in roofing and other air tool uses) . This is not designed to be used to blow up kiddy pools. This is for car tires or other tires to be used FROM your vehicle's DC power outlet on the road in case you need air in you tires... Designed to work from the DC outlet (cigarette outlet) while the car engine is running. Has AC cord also but works best from your vehicle while engine running. This is the second one of these I have had and they work GREAT and for YEARS. If used properly... And for the price worth every penny. Beats being stranded by the side of the road with a flat or under inflated tire every time... Buy this and keep in your car trunk or back seat in case of emergency. You might even be able to help a stranded motorist inflate his/her tire. I have done this a few times for friends at the work parking lot and for my Mom at her apartment parking lot.

Air Pumping for White Collar Workers
This is a great automatic pumping machine for those of us that don't like to get our hands dirty. If my car tire is flat, I go to the gas station and fill up air from the machine. If my bike tire is flat, lately I just haven't bothered riding. My kids weren't down with this solution when they needed air for their tires; they like their bikes.Lazy dad then sees the Air Station go on Gold Box sale. He says, perfect! He buys and ignores items mentioned in other reviews that might be a problem, including:1- Plastic connector instead of metal for attaching air hose to tire valve. Lazy dad sees that this plastic connector works GREAT when actually being used, made a seal on the first attempt on 11 different tires.2- Power cord is too short. Lazy dad sees the cord is only about 6 inches and plugs it into his always on extention cord and walks to the bikes.3- Too hard to set valve shutoff with precision. Lazy dad sees that he just turns the round black dial on the front up to choose a PSI pressure, like setting the temperature. Lazy dad turns it to 40, turns it on, and the pump spits out air until 39 or 40 or 41 and then turns off. Lazy dad is happy, if it went to 41 it bled off 1 PSI when he removed the hose from the valve. If it went to 39, well no harm done if its not exactly 40. Lazy dad then decides that EASE OF USE trumps fractional PSI adjustment.4- Unit turns off once it fills to desired level, can't be reset. Lazy dad just doesn't get this complaint at all - he turns off the switch ON THE UNIT and flicks it on again and the pump starts filling again. You won't go wrong buying this little unit if you want it for small tires and car tires and things. I haven't tried it on anything more than that, but for my basic purposes this device is WONDERFUL and I highly recommend it.
