Shok Blok SB-FPV-60 Water Filter Pressure Regulator Protection Valve for RO & Filter Systems - 1/4" QC Ports, 60 PSI

I literally live on the southernmost street in the state of NY that receives fantastic quality, gravity fed water from the Catskill Mountain range 300 miles north. This downhill travel creates 100 psi at our faucets!I recently installed an undersink water filter for our refrigerator water and ice dispenser,and didn’t want to risk the 100 psi of pressure on the intake side of this replaceable cartridge filter,which was rated to accept a max of 100 psi, but I didn’t want rely on this filter’s manufacturer’s rating and risk a blowout in the middle of the night while I’m sleeping, so i installed this 60 psi pressure regulator as a precaution between the cold water feed and the filter cartridge. It’s been 3 weeks since the installation and everything seems fine. Peace of mind is a valuable thing.

I think these pressure regulators are amazing with the “push in” joints. Just push in your 1/4 inch plastic tubes being sure they “bottom out”and they seal! Quick and easy.

Easy to install but the water pressure into my under-sink RO system was 80 psi before I installed the 60psi pressure regulator in-line and, unfortunately 80 psi after installation. So it is going back.

It arrived quickly the next day. It really is easy to install if the green supply line already has a shut off valve in place. Simply insert the shock block distal to the shut off valve before cutting the line for the piece to go in. Turn the line back on and voila. No more hammering or fine air bubbles coming from the R.O. spigot.

Bought it reduce the water pressure from 60 psi to 30 psi going to my ice and water dispenser on my Kenmore Elite Frige. Stopped the water splashing out of the glass when it hits the ice cubes. Works fine. You will most likely have to buy (2) 1/4” compression couplings and get rid of your nylon or metal beaded supply line and replace that with the 1/4” PVC or Pex line.

This fixed our problem with our Ice machine on the refrigerator by reducing the pressure appropriately. As far as the exact pressure that it regulated it to I am Uncertain. Would definitely recommend if you are experiencing the same problem, also to be expected is your glass of water isn’t going to fill as quickly. There is no scent or flavor difference in our water, very pleased with product. 3 months in.

Easy to install and works without leaks and it's designed to do.

It didn't reduce the water pressure at all, so it's useless.
