Product Description Monitor outdoor weather conditions in every corner of the yard by adding an extra wireless temperature and humidity sensor to a household Honeywell weather station. The TS33C sensor transmits outdoor and indoor temperature and humidity readings to a base unit to enable users to plan appropriately for brisk, hot, or damp weather. This sensor is compatible for use with Honeywell’s TE103NL, TE109NL, TE529ELW, TE653ELW, TM004, TM005, TC150, TC152, TE532ELW, TE821W, TE852W, TE923W, and TN924W weather station models. With three user-select transmission channels, the sensor communicates to the base from distances of up to 100 feet unobstructed. The sensor’s small LCD screen displays temperature information on its left side, and humidity data on the right side; the user can choose between Fahrenheit or Celsius readings. With alkaline batteries installed, the sensor can assess outdoor temperatures ranging from -4 to +158 degrees F. Opt for lithium batteries in colder climates to measure outdoor temperatures from -38 to +158 degrees F. For indoor and outdoor humidity analysis, the sensor has a humidity range of 25 to 90 percent. To ensure the most accurate readings, mount the sensor in a well-ventilated location out of direct sunlight or rain, and at least 5 feet above the ground or roof. Avoid placing the sensor over asphalt or concrete, and do not wall-mount close to heat or air condition units, fans, and exhaust vents. The sensor requires the separate purchase of two AA batteries to operate. A limited one-year warranty covers this item. The sensor measures 2-2/5 inches wide by 1 inch deep by 4 inches high and weighs 1 pound upon shipping. .com The Honeywell TS33C Temperature and Humidity Sensor with LCD can be used indoors out outdoors and features a LCD display that shows the current temperature and humidity reading. Not very accurate (had for 8 years)
I purchased a base unit and 3 of these transmitters in 2010. I set them up and have been using them continuously, and they seemed to be relatively accurate. For some reason, I decided to set the base unit and two of the transmitters side-by-side the other day. There is a 4-5 degree range in temperature (both inside at 70' and outside at 40'), and the humidity readings range from 42% to 22%. And no 2 units have the same temp or humidity readings. Maybe one of them is accurate, maybe none of them are. I guess for the price, they are "good enough." I know there are more expensive options that have a more sophisticated hygrometer. I just don't have any mission-critical need to have precise measurements.

Slick
I broke the battery contacts in the unit I had so bought this replacement. Turns out I was able to fix the old one, so now I have two. This is great, one on each side of the house. I live on a lake so the temp is usually different in front and back. The Honeywell base allows up to 3 sensors, so now I have two and can easily see where to set up the grill. Two complaints with these though. 1) They stop working before the batteries are dead. So even thought a battery tester shows it to be "good", and the LCD on the sender unit accurately displays the temp, I know I still have to replace them (batteries) when the base unit shows "---". 2) The battery cover should snap off instead of having 4 tiny screws. The heads are already shot from the first installation. Otherwise it's good.

A Very Good Product
This little gem does exactly what it's supposed to do, reliably and without any fuss or bother. I have one in the basement to monitor temp and humidity and another outside. The outdoor unit has endured all sorts of nasty New England weather and it's still going strong after two winters, blizzards, wind, sub-zero blasts and enough rain to make me consider taking up ark building. If you have the requisite receiver to display the remote temp and humidity, this is the ideal sensor to go with it.

Not that impressed
This set of comments refers to both the sensor, shown here, and the associated base station.I have two of these sensors plus the requisite base station. I am not sure whether it is the base station or the sensor, but contact is often lost between base station and the sensor and I forced to manually force a reconnect, which usually works. The display on the sensor is difficult to read.I had a Radio Shack base station and remote sensor which worked fine for about 10 years. This does not work well after a few weeks. Not impressed. Note that the base station does not show indoor and outdoor temperatures simultaneously but shows temperature and humidity for which ever sensor is selected (external or the internal sensor). This may or may not be what you require, but I prefer to have a base station that shows the temperature indoors with humidity and outdoors with temperature and humidity at the same time (as did my old Radio Shack base station). This is more a problem with the base station than this sensor.Overall the system, of which this sensor is a part , is not that good and I would not recommend it to potential purchasers.

Plus or Minus 2 degrees
I buy 24 of these packages at a time. My only concern is not being consistence. 2 degrees + or - means it can be 4 degrees off from one to another. I use these for customers to monitor the humidity under their homes from inside their living area. When you are trying to maintain the humidity under 60% it become very important to be accurate. I wish this could be addressed.

After one year, even more useful than I imagined
I purchased several of these over a year ago and I have no reason to doubt their accuracy. They last for more than a year on alkaline batteries.I recently found a new use - in my refrigerator. I used them to monitor the temperature in my freezer and refrigerator compartments for troubleshooting and setting temperature. Use lithium batteries for the freezer compartment as required for below -4 degrees Fahrenheit. The Honeywell TM005X Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Thermo-Hygrometer unit reads them through the case!I have been using these to monitor temperature and humidity in crawl spaces, attic and basement. I highly recommend this item and the base unit Honeywell TM005X.

Item in package not as labeled
While this additional unit works great for remote temperature, the actual unit only measures temperature and not humidity. The package (sealed clam shell) is labeled temperature and humidity, however the item included inside is only a temperature unit (actual device does not say hygro on the front).I expect this is a manufacturer packaging error - but as I could use a temperature only unit, and with cost of return shipping, not worth the hassle to return.

Works perfectly
Works perfectly right out of the box--well, batteries need to be added first. The one that I had outside for five years or more quit working; I suspect an ambitious spider got into the works.
