I have not had to use the shock value except for on myself (I would not advise it either) and the only reason I did was because of a comment that his dogs were not responding to it and his kids were shocking each other with it. I put that bad boy on 1 nothing, then 2 nothing (this was on top of my jeans) at about 15 or so I started to feel it and at 25 I tried it on the back of my neck and almost pissed myself.

Oh have training collars come a long way. These collars relaced one that didn't have all the features these have. The collar has three training modes, sound , vibrate and shock. I have found the sound and vibrate is all I need for my dogs. The collar is made of plastic which I find fabulous because I have pond puppies. So no need to hang a collar to dry just wipe off and it is set for next time. I have also found the collars to be small and light weight, the old ones were quite heavy. Did I mention also waterproof!! Another thing I really noticed is the battery life, oh my gosh, they last almost a month with daily use. Very happy with this purchase.

So happy that I bought this!! It has saved my shoulders and back. I have 2 great danes, and they are much calmer now and happier to be off a leash, but still under control. I only use the beep control and they do exactly what I need them to do. I only shocked one once, he know now. The vibration setting is very helpful when he doesn't want to listen. Worth every penny!!!

Works from the second floor to the first floor, has three functions which allow the operator to rapidly switch through warning noise, vibration and then static buzz. Tried on myself, very humane way to disrupt a habitual barker. collar length easy to use and we actually cut it down to fit pets snuggly. Black rubber peg covers protect skin but leg white fur dingy black. washed off easily with baby shampoo. The 'on' light on the collar flashes green every few seconds and is extremely bright, not the best for leaving the collar on dog overnight; but not a big deal. (disruptive to dog's sleep?)

I have two dogs that like to bolt and take off when they are off a leash, one does not like to listen and come back when I call. They are high energy dogs, and they need time to run fast and take off, but they also need to listen and come back when called. This collar worked like a charm. I mostly use the vibrate, but if needed I can get tougher. Now my dogs can have the freedom to run and play, and I can be a responsible owner, and have them listen to my commands to keep them safe.

This training collar system (I call it a "hearing aid" for when my dog doesn't "listen" to me....) is wonderful! I have a Jack Russell terrier, and this has made his learning curve for commands so much flatter! I've not even had to go past the vibrate mode. It's much easier than having to fight a leash during training sessions, and keeps commands friendly and calm.

This is the best we ever bought only had to utilize a couple of times and now our pet bull mix is so behaved! We only use the beep and he never ever wanders off. It has been such a pleasure!

I like the fact that it stays charged for a really long time. My only issue with this product is it won't allow me to raise the volume up, but other than that I like the product. I don't keep this on my dogs very long or every day, but it doesn't seem to bother them when they are wearing them. I would prefer the collar to be fabric instead of rubber/plastic as I have two German shepherds and they tear up any and everything.
