This cd/dvd rom drive works perfectly on my windows 11 desktop pc. The dvd picture quality during playback is great. There’s no stutter or judder and the drive is very quiet. The cable length is fairly standard, so short. But for a not a lot of money you can pick a longer one of these up on Amazon. It connects via USB to Mini USB. the drive is also powered via the same cable. Comes with Nero burning and archiving software. I haven’t burnt a disk with it as yet so I can’t comment on the write speed. I will mainly be using this for playing CD’s and watching DVD’s, and so far it’s been perfect in that role. Recommended within my scope of use.

Works well, easy setup with supplied software. Additional software (Nero) very limited but works well with VLC and standard Windows media player.

My new laptop did not have an internal CD writer, which meant finding an external device. After two false starts (neither model would not burn CDs from WMP) I bought the Verbatim writer and so far it's been very good: it plays, rips and burns to perfection. My only reservation (which is why this is not a 5-star review) is that the CD drawer is quite fragile. It needs handling carefully to ensure long life.

This does not work with a new iMac despite what the sales blurb says. It will connect to the iMac via the supplied USB C adaptor and the power light will come on; the loading tray will open and close after you've clipped in a CD/DVD but it will not play it or even show the drive in Finder. The external drive is findable by doing a system report, but disk utility cannot see it. I've given it 1 star because it does work with my 2017 Airbook, but I bought it to work with my newer iMac. It is light which you may think is a bonus but it is this light because it is very cheaply made and feels like a strong gust of wind could blow it apart. It has quite high reviews which is confusing as it is supposed to be a plug and play device but does not work. A few forums state that the new Macs may not give off enough power from their USB C ports to power devices and that you should use a powered USB hub, but there is no mention of that in the product description. I shall return this poorly made device and buy something that actually works.

Functions well but far from a robust case so okay for infrequent use which is what I purchased it for. Supporting Nero software a real bonus if needed otherwise maybe just more bloat on the PC. Happy with purchase overall but a bit pricey for what it is.

Very compact and slim. As we don't often have cause to use it is great value for money. Good quality and design. Easy to use. Yes, it is brilliant.

This player connected to my MacBook Pro as it should, but when it was playing a DVD it was way too noisy. I ordered a second, indentical player, and it played much, much quieter. I kept that one. Bizarrely, both players were set to Region 1 when I connected them, and I had to change each of them to Region 2. Not a problem to do that, but you are limited to the number of times you can change the Region: I've "lost" one of my changes.

Hatte vorher soon Ding für 17,-€ gekauft, das war voll Schrott. Nur Laufwerksanzeige,kein Einlesen,keinerlei Reaktionen. Habe dann den Dvd-Writer von Verbatim entdeckt. Ich habe schon seit Jahren nur Laufwerke von Verbatim. Das Gerät kam gestern, ausgepackt und angeschlossen. Das Laufwerk wurde sofort erkannt, Treiber wurde von Windows 7 sofort installiert, das Fenster kam sofort. Das Laufwerk war sofort vorhanden. Nach dem schnellen Einlesen erschien gleich das ganze Verzeichnis. Die eingelegte CD wurde fix durchgescannt, war auch sehr leise. Was sage ich dazu Verbatim war und ist bei Laufwerken unschlagbar. Ich bin sowas von begeistert. Volle Punktzahl.

Excellent player. No problems burning regular dual layer DVDs so far. Haven't tried M discs yet but glad I have the option. Very compact and light and as a result it is necessarily flimsy but perfect product for what it is and at a good price for it's features.

Well designed and did the job required. Nero was confusing but the Verbatim disc player was perfect
