Microsoft OEM Kinect Adapter for Windows

I have a projector setup, so my Xbox is 15 feet away from the screen. The cable that comes with the Kinect isn't long enough. This product is the ONLY extension cable I've been able to find for a Kinect. Using this product as an extension cable from my Xbox to my Kinect seems to be functioning perfectly... the Kinect recognizes me fine ,and understands my voice commands, and I've been able to play the Dance game fine. (I've read that this cable doesn't work with the "IR Blaster" aspects of Kinect, by which it can act as a replacement for your remote controls. I wouldn't know about that. For those of us with a dedicated projector setup for our Xbox, I figure we generally don't have lots of remote controls...)

I have a projector and have been waiting for this ever since I got the Day One Xbox One. I would just like to confirm that the Kinect Adapter for Windows combined with a Tripp Lite USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Active Repeater Cable (AB M/M) 25-ft works. You just plug the Kinect into the powered Kinect Adapter for Windows, connect the repeater cable to that and then that cable to any regular USB port on the console. Very simple and it works great. I've just started using some Kinect games and it is really fun. This works well if you want to extend your Xbox One Kinect 2.0 further than the few feet Microsoft gives. Its a shame they don't over an extension cord yet and it doesn't look like Microsoft will make one anytime soon. (BTW, its one of the top request of their UserVoice page) One thing to know though, this will stop the Kinect for using its the RF broadcaster; big bummer as I use that to turn everything on.

I really have no compelling reason to get and use this, but I did, installed it, and it works. I guess since the Kinect became obsolete for Xbox, I didn't like the idea of simply throwing it away. At least this way, I have it now connected to my PC so I have a backup camera and it makes Windows 10 Hello feature work, for what that's worth. Ultimately is it worth the cost and the hassle of installing it? Not really, but it was kind of interesting and fun to install it and make it work.

I've been using this and the TrippLite USB 3.0 A to B extension to extend my Xbox One kinect. Works pretty well for it not being an official solution. Kinect disconnects periodically, but not enough to be a real nuisance. As for actual developer purpose? No idea. Also, fyi, the kinect will not function as an IR blaster when using this adapter. You'll need a separate IR transmitter.

Edit: This functionality no longer works, either due to an update from MS, or by a failure in the product. Original review below: It works as an Extension Cable for Kinect with the Xbox One! So, even if you aren't using it with a PC, this cable is brilliant. I plugged the Kinect into this adapter, and extended it with a USB 3.0 extension cable. Plugged that USB cable into the back of the Xbox One. It works flawlessly! So, if your Xbox is too far from your TV to use Kinect, this is the product you need to extend the cable. MS claims that it doesn't work for that use, but it does, and there's no official extension available. This is it! 5-Stars. Edit: Nevermind. It randomly stopped working after a few days. 1-Star.

Used in conjunction with the FireNEX-uLINK USB 3.0 cable to extend the Kinect to my Xbox One in a closet with hidden cables. I ran the stock Kinect cable and the adapter power cable inside the wall, up to my attic. I then connected it to the FireNEX cable and ran the cable to my Xbox One in a closet and connected it to a USB port on the back. Kinect works perfectly and my mounted TV has no cables showing.

Aunque Microsoft lo da gratis si tienes ambas consolas, para los que quieren programarlo sin necesidad de tener un xbox es una buena opción de compra. Solo me preocupó que lo enviaron en una caja muy suelto y sin protección mas que la propia caja del adaptador.

The product works as expected. This adapter is a blessing from Microsoft. I already purchased a kinect 1.0, and no with this adapter i can connect it directly to PC and develop my own applications. The adapter turns read, once connected to power supply, and turns whit, up on establishing an active connection via usb. If you have a kinect one bar, i recommend to go for this product, because, purchasing another kinect for windows will be very much expensive. Overall, a good product, but slightly over priced.

as others have mentioned, they purposely ship this with a euro plug to the north american market. this will result in you having to pay for shipping to return it. shameful amazon allows this vendor to continue to do this.

Se entregó mucho antes del tiempo estipulado y en perfectas condiciones sirve para lo que es diseñado. Bien y buen producto. Aunque si tienes xbox one y xbox one s, puedes pedir a xbox que te manden el adaptador gratis.
