The fan puts out an amazing amount of wind force and the light is fantastically bright-- enough to illuminate our bedroom and computer room (we have one in each.) The wall pad switch is horrible however. All the buttons are flat and require a very positive "press" to use. So when you are passing thru a room and just want to turn the light on/off, you really have to stop, press the button very deilberately, and then release to make it register. I so wish they had an option to use a old-style toggle-switch for the light on/off because it is hard to use in its current design. Also the way its wired you cant even substitute a regular switch and sacrifice the speed changes. It is wired with a normal hot and neutral set of 2 wires so switching it old school would turn off the fan as well as the light. The wifi-app that works with the fan is pretty cool, but I have had problems connecting to it from my phone on numerous occasions so I usually give up and walk to the wall to change fan speed/brightness.

The media could not be loaded.  I have had this fan for a few weeks and to this point I am very satisfied. I bought it to replace a Hunter fan that was still working after nearly 15 years - but its buzzing AC motor was driving me crazy.Pros:- absolutely silent DC motor- moves lots of air- clean, modern and compact canopy, motor housing and luminaire- bright light with very good dispersion- nice looking and highly functional wall control- ABS blades look better than expected and should hold up well in my humid location- iOS app is decent, responsive and seems to be actively developedBonus:- if you are tech savvy, local control with iOS Home app is possible via homebridgeCons:- since the canopy is compact, getting the receiver wires tucked in during installation was tricky- i had some network related setup issues with the iOS app but YMMV- not inexpensive (but the wall control almost makes up for it)Bottom line:Worth the extra $$ if you plan to use the smart features and prefer a sleek wall control over a clunky remote like you get with many DC motor ceiling fans.

Works well with wall switch, iPhone App and Alexa. Installation Instructions are clear and installation is fairly easy IF you follow instructions closely. Took about 2 hours to install.Update a year-and-a-half later:This has been a love/hate relationship. I love this fan when it works, but it drives me nuts at least once a month. Sometimes cycling the circuit breaker gets it working. Sometimes disabling the Alexa Skill and re-enabling it gets it working. Sometimes deleting the App and re-downloading it works. Sometimes repeating these steps works. Sometimes nothing works but after waiting a few hours it starts working again.Once it is working, I love being able to control the speed through the night while I’m in bed.It’s a great fan but buggy!Yet another update: Made some improvements that have helped considerably. The main thing is I added battery backup to my WiFi and Internet. When the power goes out (frequently here in SW Florida) the fan, which is not on the battery backup, looses connection with the Alexa Echo devices. Just shutting off the electrical circuit breaker for about 10 seconds and then restoring power reconnects the fan with the WiFi.Stay tuned--there's more: Same old problem. After a power outage, the fan tries to start, but after a few seconds there is a soft clunk and the fan stops. Tried cutting and then restoring power from the circuit breaker, tried disabling and then enabling the Alexa skill, did a network reset, but nothing would work. I asked Alexa one last time to set the fan to level five, and as the fan started to turn, I gave the blades a hard spin with my hand. Wouldn't you know it, the fan cranked up to level 5.I'm thinking I might lower my review to 3 stars--probably should, but for now I won't change it.

This was the second fan we ordered of this same type, based on our experience with the first one, which was good. About two weeks after installation, it started to make a “thump” noise. I did everything I possibly could to remedy this. I am an engineer that specializes in facility and infrastructure management, by the way. I know what I’m doing. The noise seemed to be coming from the motor housing. I suspect a bad bearing or some other manufacturing defect. So I called Modern Forms customer support. After a long wait, I got someone who said they would transfer me to tech support. Spent another 5 minutes on hold and it disconnected. So I decided to fill out an online support request and described my problem. I did get a response and a request for my receipt and info on the item. A trouble ticket was assigned. I sent the requested info and they have been silent ever since. I sent several follow up emails and none have been answered. Out of desperation I contacted Amazon. As it was less than 90 days, Amazon replaced it. Thank you, Amazon! Still, I have a very bad taste from Modern Forms. In sum, when their fans work, they work well. If you have a problem, their warranty and customer support are non-existent. Buy at your own risk. For premium priced fans, you expect premium service and support. They failed.

I’ve purchased AC ceiling fans in the past and they all HUM! Even when they’ve had favourable reviews they have all been unacceptable. Thankfully DC motor fans have arrived, and they are simply unbelievable! Say goodbye to AC fans, they are now obsolete. Good riddance! This fan is more than I could’ve asked for. Perfect in every way. No hum, no wobble. Great remote, easy to install and also a great app. What more could you ask for. Thank you Modern Forms. And no I don’t work for the company and I didn’t get paid to do a review I just appreciate quality. Thank God there are some companies around that aren’t run by a bunch of penny pinching accountants. As they say, you get what you pay for, and nobody ever regretted buying the best, but they sure as hell remember buying the cheapest.

I was very impressed as I unboxed and installed this fan. It seems well constructed and I do like the look of it. The installation was fine, basically the same as any other ceiling fan. The motor is extremely quiet which is great. This moves a lot of air, so the blade noise itself can be high, but that is somewhat unavoidable.All of that is great HOWEVER...If you are going to use your existing light switch to turn the LED light on and off, you might as well not bother buying this product. As confirmed by Modern Forms, there is a 6-7 second delay from the time you turn the light switch on to the time the LED will come on because it is all done via radio wave. If you want to use this fan this way, when you first power it on, you have to turn on the light using the remote control. Then, when you turn the wall switch off and back on, you will have to wait 6-7 seconds for the power to hit the fan, and the remote to tell the fan the light should be on (or some ridiculous flow like that). I've never seen this and not sure who decided that made sense. While 6-7 seconds doesn't sound long, it is super annoying to stand there in the dark and wait for the light to come on.

This is a very quiet fan, I use it on reverse setting in the winter to circulate the air when I have the fireplace on.The light is very bright. Don't even know you have the fan on.

This is an awesome fan. We purchased 2; had them installed by our electrician. The app is super, easy and responsive to use. Support from Modern Forns is excellent. We had a question and received an answer and resolution within 24 hours! Super happy.
