Researched a number of these steps on Amazon before deciding on this one. They all basically do the same thing - enable easy access to roof bars / top box etc. The main reason for choosing this one was the design of the rubber protection strip which wraps slightly under the base (which the others did not do). And it works as I had hoped - protecting the car's paintwork both when attaching the step and whilst it is on. I also like that the step surface is finished in rubber. The price was very competitive - especially given the quality of the item. It's big enough to feel very stable when in use but small enough to slip in the glovebox (in the fabric case provided). Very impressed indeed!

This item is very well made and seems robust. The only issue is that it'll only work if your door latch is a simple metal U. I'm not sure how many modern cars still have that, as my Mercedes has a more substantial latch, meaning this step wouldn't fit.I sent it back and got an immediate refund from Amazon.

Works surprisingly well and holds me up (96kg) without any fuss. Fits my VW t5 on the front doors ok

Works fine on my BMW X3. Only issue is, given that I am somewhat vertically challenged, the height of the step from the floor to Yandu car doorstep requires me to stand on the sill.
