Cast Iron is a Chemical-Free Alternative to Nonstick Pans Another benefit to using cast-iron pans in place of nonstick pans is that you avoid the harmful chemicals that are found in nonstick pans. The repellent coating that keeps food from sticking to nonstick pots and pans contains PFCs (perfluorocarbons), a chemical that's linked to liver damage, cancer, developmental problems and, according to one 2011 study in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, early menopause. PFCs get released-and inhaled-from nonstick pans in the form of fumes when pans are heated on high heat. Likewise, we can ingest them when the surface of the pan gets scratched. Both regular and ceramic-coated cast-iron pans are great alternatives to nonstick pans for this reason. You Can Cook With Less Oil When You Use a Cast-Iron Skillet That lovely sheen on cast-iron cookware is the sign of a well-seasoned pan, which renders it virtually nonstick. The health bonus, of course, is that you won't need to use gads of oil to brown crispy potatoes or sear chicken when cooking in cast-iron. To season your cast-iron skillet, cover the bottom of the pan with a thick layer of kosher salt and a half inch of cooking oil, then heat until the oil starts to smoke. Carefully pour the salt and oil into a bowl, then use a ball of paper towels to rub the inside of the pan until it is smooth. To clean cast iron, never use soap. Simply scrub your skillet with a stiff brush and hot water and dry it completely.

Perfect for perfectly round and crisp dosas!
The media could not be loaded. We love round, crisp and thin dosas and this tawa yields you just the same! The only cons being it's heaviness and that the handle becomes too hot to handle, even with the glove that comes with it. Otherwise a great buy according to me. Two initial dosas lost but never lost a single one after, even after several weeks of using it now

Good for health
Needs lot of maintenance for cleaning and storage but health wise it is far far better than chemical coated nonstick pans. My first dosa was a flop but after seasoning 3-4 times it came out very well.. Tip is to rub with onion before making the first dosa.. Pretty heavy pan received a pouch to hold the handle.,no glove

Excellent.
Product is excellent. A bit disappointing when I opened the pack. The dosa tawa received was not of ekitchen, but some Trilonium brand. Pre seasoned the tawa as per instructions. Fried onions and lo! it was good to go. The pics speak for itself. The only drawback is the handle, though a glove has been supplied. But becomes difficult to keep it on and work..

Good quality product
Delivered as scheduled. Received in good condition, package contains tawa along with glove and instructions. Tawa is heavy, working fine on my induction stove.

Replace it or repay it I am ready to return the product
I am using this product for 15 days when i was heating the tawa i heard a sound from the tawa then I come to see the crack in the tawa very disappointed by the performance of the product if possible replace it or please repay it I am ready to return the product

I thought it was already seasoned.... But I had to season it and still I am struggling... It sticks... So now I barely use it bcoz we need time and patience ... But I think if it is seasoned it should be good... It is very thick

Good product
A very nice heavy iron thava. I bought this for making healthy and tasty dosas. It needs some time to get adjusted unlike non stick tavas. It came with an instruction manual as well
