Great replacement, ease of use.
I purchased the compact version, as seen in the pictures. My first thoughts at looking at the packaging/manual is that it is very proffessionaly built, with lots of concideration in the ease of use. The install went fairly straight forward on a Forest River super light. I was a little disapointed in the plastic handle on the inside, as the original was metal, with metal bolt screw, where as this has metal screws that go into a plastic sleeve that make there own tap. So you can only go so tight for fear of them stripping. And I am not sure how strong the plastic handle on the inside is, but time will tell. I will update this review if there's issues. You can also see in the pic's the difference on how the outside of the foam seal is tighter in the front/left as opposed to the right side where the keypad is. So I did a water test on the outside just to make sure the seal was doing it job... after removing it and inspecting, it was. It seemed to be dry inside. (And yes, the screws on the inside are as tight as they could get without stripping them.) The video instruction contradicts with the manual on how to change the default code. The manual is correct. The lock functions without a hitch, and yes, time will tell how long the battery's last. I will leave this review at 5 star's because everything is working as it should for now... and I will update if there's a change over time. It's a nice door handle and I like it, a good replacement over the OEM... but darn, now another key to carry around!

Keyless for convenience
This was our second keyless RV door lock and just like the first one it was an easy install and programming the door code a breeze. They’ve made the sound a lot quieter on this one which is a big plus. The key pad seems a lot sturdier which was the only reason we had to replace our first one. After years of use The number key pad crumbled away so entering the code became a bit of a challenge relying on where the numbers use to be. All in all I would highly recommend this keyless lock. The convenience of not needing to carry any keys is well worth the price. The fob works great too if you choose to use it.

Worth it!
I love this product. The packaging and instructions were quality and clear. Unpacking revealed two pieces one that goes inside and the other outside, plus the remote of course. I was able to easily follow the instructions and change the code. Install was simple, takes patience to tuck the wires into the void inside your door, you should have plenty of space to push those in. My trailer is a 2025 Jayco 5th wheell, so it fit perfectly like factory. Now I have the remote on my keychain when we go out or go on walks, easy to lock / unlock. And the code method works just as well. High quality, you get what you pay for, I have no hesitation endorsing this product to family and friends with RVs.

Strong and easy to install but numbers are sun faded.
These locks are awesome and were really easy to install. They fit perfect in our doors without needing any modification. The numbers have faded quite a bit after about a year due to the sun. Other than that they still work great and keep everything secure. The added key FOB is a nice bonus. We were able to program both locks on one FOB.

Great product, easy to install, just wish it had a more metal.
Super easy to install and program the entry code. I love it, no more worrying about someone with the stock RV lock key letting themselves in. Only complaint, the original was more metal and less plastic. The handle used to close the door on the inside is plastic and I can see it breaking off sometime.

Love this door lock and I feel safe
I’m so thankful I purchased this door lock. It’s sturdy. It’s easy to install. I am a single woman living out in a camper by myself and I was able to install it in just a regular camper door with very little issues. It went an easy. I programmed it according to the directions and it has a key and a key fob. And I am so thankful I bought this now. Nobody has my combination you can get into my camper when I’m not at home.

Great lock
Easy install and function. With the factory lock the door had be slammed or pull the latch to get it to shut. Not with the RVLOCK. Door closes and latches easily. I was surprised it’s made of plaster c unlike the factory lock of our Brinkley was medal. But after using the code to n the factory lock and then not being able to get the door unlocked I had had enough. The key fabs make it convenient and simple to lock and unlock. Changing the PIN code was a freeze as welll

Had so much potential…
This is a frustrating review to write because 1/2 of the door lock is amazing, the other half is not. Ok, first the packaging is really nice. They put tons of effort in designing the packaging. Opening this up I felt like it was a very high end door lock mechanism…until I pulled out the interior handle. It went downhill from there. The exterior side is made of metal and is made really well- they did an excellent job there. The buttons feel substantial and do not appear as though they would dry rot in heat or malfunction in cold, just really well thought out and built to be durable. The interior handle is flimsy plastic, cheap and not nearly as good as the crappy original door handle which is all metal. The interior handle does not provide any way to grip it to close the door. I couldn’t get but maybe 2 fingers underneath the battery compartment where the handle is located to close the door. This is a common problem apparently (I looked it up on YouTube and did some additional research after installing to make sure I installed it properly). When pulling the door shut, the handle flexes enough that I felt it might break. Sorry, but this is just too expensive to feel that way every time I close the door. However, with all of that in mind, the worst part is that my first impression when installing was that the red lever on the interior handle was complete garbage and not even close to the quality of the original basic installed on every rv door handle. The plastic is cheap and looks like a dollar store find. Just super disappointing. Now, as for the directions, those were lacking. Basic install is a breeze for anyone who knows how to use a screwdriver, but the directions should have mentioned a few things to either watch out for or to work around. Inside of rv doors, which apparently is the case with most models, when you pull out the original lock, inside may be a plastic spacer. Initially I couldn’t get the door lock mechanism to fit inside the cutout because of the spacer so I removed it. That didn’t allow the lock to work correctly so I removed the lock and fought with the spacer to reinstall it then fit the lock back into place. Took some work but was able to do it. The spacer, after really looking at the inside of the door, is a necessary component which gives structure to the door. This should have been at least mentioned in the directions but wasn’t. Next the programming of the lock. The video instructions as well as the written instructions are incorrect. It just says to press 8 and the lock button at the same time, type in the original code, then type in a new code and press the lock button. Repeat the new code and press lock. Well it didn’t work. Repeated that step several times then threw in the towel and went to YouTube. On the inside of the door by the battery compartment is a tiny hole that you put a pin in to reset the code. Did that and repeated the steps of entering a new code and it worked. Super simple and if the directions had mentioned that it would have saved me tons of time. Then came the fob. You have to program the fob to work with the system. There are two sets of buttons, one in black and one printed in white. Both sets do the same exact thing so I’m not sure why there are two sets of them. You have to program the fob for both sets of buttons, which is a stupid design flaw. If you don’t program each set separately then the one set you don’t program will not work. I didn’t see any mention of this so again, time wasted looking for additional instructions to fix the fob. Just weird. Locking and unlocking- this worked…well kind of. It only locks the deadbolt, so keep that in mind. I locked it, then pulled the handle to check, but then it would not unlock. I had to eventually push the door in, then press the unlock code on the keypad to get it to unlock. Not sure why but that is what I had to do. Now, I pressed the lock button on the fob and the door would lock. Press the unlock and it would unlock just fine- as long as you don’t touch the handle. Repeated using the keypad, same result, just don’t touch the door handle and it works fine. And yes, I checked on adjusting the strike plate many many many times and the fit was correct. Didn’t see this issue on any other reviews, both on Amazon and on a general Google search so I’m curious if anyone else had this issue. Really neat idea with a lack of execution on the engineering part and built with cost saving shortcuts that make it just too flawed to keep. If they made the interior handle out of metal, used better plastic on the red interior lever, fixed the lock and unlock issues (not being able to use the handle to check to see if it is locked or not), made the lock so it locks everything and not just the deadbolt, improve the directions a bit, and created an actual handle on the interior so you can actually close the door, this would be a 5 star design. As of now a 3 star at best. I’m returning it and after much research will Go with the Trex model which is all metal. If that doesn’t work I will go for the V4 model which from what I can tell has an all metal interior handle as well. The V4 and the trex are both substantially more in cost. Hope this helps in your decision. It isn’t a total dud and could be a good fit for someone who doesn’t use their rv much. I probably would have kept it and could have overlooked some of the design issues but only if the interior door portion was made of metal.
